What grinder is everyone using?

With all of these frosty bud pics I’m curious as to what grinder some of you people are using. My recent harvest is extremely sticky and has been completely gumming up and jamming my current grinder. I ordered an expensive Flower Mill grinder that turned out to be useless and is now being returned. All it did was ball the buds up and did’t grind much at all. It probably would have been good with dry dusty weed. I just ordered a Brilliant Cut grinder but it will be 4-6 weeks before it ships. Just looking for opinions thanks. Not sure if this is the right place to post this so if it needs to be moved feel free to do so.

Sticky buds may gum up any grinder. I run sticky buds thru the grinder with no problems eventually the screen plugs up but that’s normal. I use a Santa Cruz Shredder had it for years now.

Sorry to hear your woes with sticky pot and all but i dont use a grinder…i just reach into the sack and snatch me out a bud and tear it apart with my bare hands…stuff it in my pipe and smoke it like a man. LOL

Comes with a fine and medium plate. The medium plate does well with sticky, extra chunky nugs.

I have had my large Brilliant Cut Grinder for about a month. I like the size, grind and the ease of use. Now my other two grinders just sit there unused.

KOZO for me…can’t remember when I got it …has been that long…I clean it with formula 420 solution when the resin builds up… I dip it in and out of the solution in a bowl and the scrub particles in the 420 really do a good job cleaning it like new

Thanks for the responses guys! That Bear grinder looks pretty cool. I was originally looking for a blade style grinder but there doesn’t seem to be many in that style. When I say mine gums up I mean to the point of not being able to twist it. I sometimes run a bud that’s a bit more dry with the moist weed and that helps some but then it’s a weed cocktail. Was considering a Santa Cruz Shredder but I didn’t see any with a kief catch. Hoping the BCG is good.

they are all going to do this if your smoke is high resin/moisture…try my solution 420 suggestion

My cali crusher doesnt gum up that bad even with really moist dank stuff. The most i have to do is run a paperclip around the teeth a little to scrape some resin off keeping them sharp and it always turns, dont get me wrong moister stuff gets it gummy and hard to turn sometimes but in a year or more havent had to do a solution cleaning like with my others in a way you mentioned with formula 420 although ive thought of it anyway. Mostly what i have to do is scrape the kief screen clean to keep it from clogging

I use 90% rubbing alcohol to clean the Santa Cruz the screen cleans up immediately. Weird you dont see a kief catcher.

I simply bought an inexpensive coffee grinder. Sure it will knock trichomes off but I’m mixing it in the bowl or the paper so who cares?

@TLC Until this thread… I hadn’t thought about cleaning my grinder.

@Audiofreak :joy: I love it… But seriously… I used to break it up in my hand exclusively… After 40 years arthritis can be a bitch.

Could never go back to breaking up good weed in my hand… For me anyway… It seemed, after puffing, to leave hard coal like peices that ruined my puffing pleasure… I figured that breaking it by hand I was also mushing it into moist rocks.

Ginding though… I feel my bowls are pleasurable throughout.
