I’ve had several successful grows but suddenly in the last day or so I’ve seen these webs in more than one place…
I’m sure it’s not great news but I just need to know what my attack should be
I just cut the down the one on the right a couple days ago and found a few tiny spots while cutting from the main stalks.
The one on the left suddenly out of the blue there was a web spot on top.
And some bud porn from the cut!
Looks more like a spider web/nest than mold.
Take a toothpick and pull on it. Webs will be very stringy and stretchy. Mold will give way without any resistance.
I am not exactly sure how to describe what it did but I guess it gave way? It didn’t seem stretchy. They were very small areas
Looks like bud rot to me. Just had to deal with it in my outdoor garden. Discard the affected parts. DO NOT USE. It will start at the Center of the bud and work it’s way to the surface.
Probably mold.
Any type of spun webbing from bugs has a stretchy elastic quality to it.
At least you caught it now.
Just an observation here.
The catch basin looks like its holding water. If you do not remove it all (the excess water) after watering your plants it will drastically raise your humidity in the tent. Adding a fan will keep the air moving as well.
A meter is a must in the tent to monitor temp and humidity levels.
You may know all this already,…Just commenting from what I see.
You can spray the plant on the left with 3% hydrogen peroxide without hurting the buds. It looks like it’s not quite ready but @Myfriendis410 is the guru on peroxide. Maybe we can defer to his more experienced eye @EclecticJack.

Yup def looks like mold to me. As stated toss it and preventative measures on remaining plany asap!
It does look like it started at the base of the bud but it also looks like I caught it soon enough. Some had to go but the majority was saved.
Still have to treat the other plant tho.

Yeah; remove the bad material carefully and get it away from the grow space. If you want (wear gloves and away from grow) you can pull it apart to see exactly WTF. I’ve had caterpillars munch to the center of the flower, killing it and introducing a path for bud rot as well.
If you are concerned about pests it’s a really good idea to start a treatment program. I like Captain Jack’s Deadbug and Safer Spray: both bacterial strains in a carrier that you can spray up to the day of harvest. Harmless to pets and humans.
I think I figured it out and I think I pulled it from one tent into the other.
I have three very long buds drying in the first tent with air being sucked into the main tent and then out the exhaust.
The longest bud in the dry tent had the mold on the lower 1/10th. In the regular tent this plant mysteriously had some on top.
I did a nice needed trim of the plant on the left and only found that one other spot
I’m going to do a wipe down of the vents and walls and a peroxide spray on the plant.
Ordered some Deadbug. I had some small mites on the tent floor a few weeks ago. I don’t see them anymore, but it can’t hurt for some spray aound the base.

Just a quick update:
I cut my seed branch down and all looked well up until the last 1/8th of the branch. I found the issue again at the point where the bud stem meets the main branch. Kinda like how it looked when I had that bit drying and I found the towards the top of the branch (top was hanging upside down). Now since I’m after the seeds I didn’t trash it, I just did a clean off and a water/peroxide bath. Buuuut, since there are two plants I went looking and sure enough, I found a small patch and had to cut another piece out.
I have two small fans (one just added), my 440CFM exhaust fan that’s on 24/7, and the intake near an AC vent. I’ve never had this issue before on my previous grows so I can’t tell if something has been introduced that I’m just chasing or if the environment has changed.
I’m just thinking out loud here until I figure this out, but maybe the lights are the cause…by accident. This is my first full grow with my 4 QBs and my nugs feel like golf balls. At the tops, they are all packed in there forming a sweet cola and while this would normally be a cause for joy, it may be the cause of lack of air flow. I went in and moved the buds a bit. I also ordered a black light flashlight. This is supposed to let me find the mold a little easier by illuminating it. Found that while googling the issue…that will be here tomorrow so this should be interesting.
Wow man. I hate to hear that! Frigging indoor mold… please dont be a ‘seasonal’ issue for everyone. Last year outdoors was hell… also ive seen one side effect of the high density buds qb’s are making easy… denser nuggs can hide it better… gets deep down and just eats its way out.
Best of luck fighting this fight. I have no idea how to go from here. But when ur done a good disinfecting of the area may help…

There are handheld UV lights or hanging UV fixtures that are supposed to be able to kill the mold spores.
Do a search for those things.
I have UV fixtures in my flower tent that run 4 hours a day and so far haven’t had any issues with it.
The hand held you would use like a magic want across the plants every so often there are you tube vids on it from the company that makes them. I can’t remember the maker.
What you ordered would be fine for seeing the mold but pretty sure isn’t strong enough to kill it.
Pay attention as there is UV-A UV-B and UV-C so read up on them but I think the best killer wavelength is C
I May be wrong but don’t ozone generators kill mold spores? If so small ones are on amazon and maybe the key to killing all spores in the grow area.
Mold spores are ever present in this earth. Nothing can prevent them coming into any grow area.
You are correct that Ozone will kill spores… but also degrades terpenes and other odor compounds.
Ozone is a very reactive form of oxygen.
Best defense is to keep the environment in a state that prevents the spores from growing.
Lower humidity being #1. Airflow to prevent moist spots.
I was thinking to use to clean tent or grow area between grows.
I learned to sanitize from brewing beer. Thank you Charlie Papazian.
Just a little chlorine bleach, or iodine in some water to wash up will sanitize any surface.
Like a teaspoon in 5 gallons. Just a mild solution and let it dry on the surface. No need to rinse.
Sterile is impossible and not necessary.
