Waxwing Grows: Lemon Auto Organic

and boom goes the dynamite

Transplanted the second Galactic Grape today; also began germination for something new, a photoperiod plant- Bananacane from In-House Genetics. I’ve got a free small tent she can stay in until space reopens in the Big Tent.

Here’s the current layout. Sorry if it’s a little sideways.

It is a pleasing tent; it really is. But they flower so young, and their potential is so small. Next time, I think I’ll dive deep into the Photoperiod.

On that note, the little Bananacane photo is coming up strong. I don’t know what sort of arrangement will have to be made, but it will work out.

Here’s the bigger Grape girl after a nail-biting trim job. Here’s hoping she handles it maturely.

I’m fortunate to say the plant that struggles the most right now is the least valuable. Anyone know what’s discoloring the basil? It doesn’t look terrible, but it’s not as healthy as I’d hoped.

It has been, consistently, around 75% RH in there. Yikes!
My dehumidifier, alas, is on a top-priority mold-control mission elsewhere in the building. Ideally it will be back to work servicing the Big Tent within a month.

I think you are right, it wants to dry back more. Especially at 75%RH. It’s got sweaty balls. lol

It looks like you have a drip tray under there? Maybe raise it up on some stilts to get some air under it. A small empty pot flipped over, or a couple pizza box shims? Maybe pinch those leaves at the soil line too. The ones that look wilted at the bottom.

I somehow drowned the Bananacane sprout and destroyed it; this doesn’t happen often and I don’t recall being very aggressive with watering her, but in any case the plant was crushed under the dirt and unable to come back up. I expected a lot more integrity from a seedling with a pedigree; frustrating. Photoperiods, for now, are on the back burner; I won’t commit seeds to something until I have more of a plan.

But the autoflowers all look nice and healthy. The Blackberry and Gorilla Glue hit flower long before I’d hoped they would; they also received minimal training, so I don’t expect big things from them in the quantity department. Quality, however, looks promising, and aside from size there’s nothing wrong with them.
The “Galactic Grape” plants, on the other hands, have sent out spindly limbs all over! Even the older of the two isn’t done growing, and both have taken to training (they’ve been topped more aggressively than the others) like champs.

I regained custody of my nice dehumidifier about a week ago, but even with it running constantly right outside the tent, RH in there has consistently stayed in the 70s. I could potentially put it inside the tent itself, but it would be cramped in there, and dumping the reservoir (which has been a near-daily chore of late) would be a particular hassle. I’m sure it will slowly descend as spring begets summer and flower approaches fruition.

Thanks for the input; I’ve moved the basil to a room with moderate sun and airflow, and it seems happier there. I also suspect, since I had been watering the stuff alongside the cannabis, it was getting too much nutrition; now, filtered tap water goes down smoother.

I spent a few days away from the tent, and when I came back- wowza!

The Blackberry and the Gorilla Glue both look healthy and are well into flowering, but disappointing on the size front.

The two Galactic Grapes however have been a towering success; look at that early-flower stretch!

These beauty shots were taken after trimming some disharmonious leaves and low-level growth.

I didn’t go into the Grape with the highest of expectations, so it’s a very nice surprise they’re shaping up to be the much-needed heavyweights of this round.
Thanks for following along, fellas!

those Galactic Grape sisters have legs that just won’t quit.

The other two plants? They’re okay.

The chop is still weeks away at best- still, the trichomes might please the eye.

The game done changed.

It’s been a quiet month. The Gorilla Glue and Blackberry plants approach the finish line, and are mostly getting plain water:

Meanwhile the unexpected stars of the grow are plumping up comfortably:

The little Blackberry has gotten the chop, after a few days in darkness.

The Gorilla Glue is coming along; trichs are still a little ways off.

The rest continues much as it has.

oh my goodness

I must admit real-world issues + a general loss of enthusiasm for this grow kept me from my responsibilities. Alas, it’s not like there’s a lot to report.

but things are okay!

As for the grow, the two smaller plants are gone- long gone, actually, and long smoked- and it’s just the Galactic Grape giantesses. They’re pretty droopy even when it’s almost watering day, and I’m not sure if it’s worth trying to extract the plant in the back (which is a little further along) first or just aiming for a compromise and chopping them simultaneously.
I don’t know if I’ll feel like keeping up a journal for the next grow, but in any case I want it to be different. Aside from the big switch from autoflowers to the other kind, what could I do to spice things up? Coco+perlite worked just fine for me this time and maybe could be great with a more practiced hand, but soil does sing a siren song, and if I’m going for a slower higher-yield grow with the photoperiods and also continuing to grow organic (as I intend to) my gut tells me that soil would provide a richer biological atmosphere and be the more sensible choice. Maybe not entirely soil, but at least a little.
What do you guys think?

Love my soil dont have to water as much

Is there a soil you particularly recommend, if it’s likely to be cut with coco and/or perlite no matter what?
