Watering and soil hydration

I am starting my first grow. Germinated 2 Auto White Widow seeds and 2 Auto Gelato in a glass of water. Planted in 3 gal fabric pots filled with 3/4 Fox Fire soil topped with Happy Frog. Planted seeds after tap root popped out and gave top of soil a good spray of tap water to thoroughly moisten. Put pots under 300W of LED lights. Lights about 2 feet above pots. lights on 18/6. All 4 have broken ground. I put clear plastic cups over them. They have developed first set of leaves and second set starting to show.

My concer is now my Soil is starting to get very dry. I spray the top 2 times a day until very moist. I just don’t want to over water. Now I am afraid of under watering.

Any suggestions?

Not really necessary to water at all at the seedling stage if there is sufficient humidity in your domes. I wouldn’t give them more than a couple ml of water per day so long as the humidity domes are present.

Sounds great. Thanks for the info.

A lot of their water intake is actually happening from the top right now. For the first few days, they’re working on establishing the roots. It can be tricky at first, figuring out how much to water. If you’re using clear cups for domes, then usually about the time they touch the sides of the cup, you can remove them. Be sure your rh in the tent is pretty high, over 65%. After removing, I use a couple oz of distilled, in a ring a little past where the rim of the cup sat. You want the roots to chase the water. Hope this helps! Good luck and happy growing!
