This is my first grow, and I’m around a week away from transplanting from solo cups to a 3 gallon fabric bag. I’ve been watering every other day around 35ml. I’m wondering if I keep up the same water regimate? I’ve read to fill until run off? Stupid question, but does that mean I fill the pot with water until it pours out of the bottom? Also, should I have a saucer/pan underneath my fabric bags in my grow tent?
How big is your tent? And what are you using for light?
Nice environment and great vhoice in the light. Solo cups are overrated. Get those girls into the fabric pots asap.
Absolutely. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it.
Hola @Iamklasik and welcome to the community.
I transplant from solo cups to 1 gallon plastic to 7 gallon fabric pots.
Once transplanted… Before watering… Take note of how heavy the I watered pot with plant weighs.
Then slowly water until you get to about 10-20% runoff.
To water again… You’ll see plants drooping a bit or you’ll notice the pot is lighter than when watered.
This wet to dry to wet cycle will ensure you don’t over water… Which is watering to often… Not how much in one watering.
Also it helps keeps bugs like fungus gnats away.
Definitely have a tray underneath.
I use these:

With a riser between to allow air flow and water drainage… Cannot remember where I got them.
I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to break that down for me. Once i transplant, should i water that first day to 10-20% run off or just give a light watering.
Here’s how I do it…
I take the fabric pot and put enough dirt so that my previous pots soil level is at the level I want my final soil.
I then keep the old pot in place, lightly packing dirt around.
Once at the correct level I twist and pull out the original pot… Leaving a perfect transplant hole.
I then sprickle Great White… which is Mycorrhizae… “promotes rooting, root hairs and enhanced nutrient and water uptake.”… Into the hole.
I put the unpotted plant into the new sprickled hole.
I then water to 10% running off… But you really just need to ensure it’s soaked… The runoff is really more to rinse out old and put back new nutes… And to get rid of salts.
You can also use the runoff to give you an idea if where your soil is fir nutes level… Ppm.
And water/nute pH levels.
Using 7 gallon fabric pots with an 8 week veg with no net… Plants more natural…I can only put 4 plants max in my 4x4… I want a 5x5 for more room… But not more plants.
The six plants in the pic…will eventually be 3 & 3 in two 4x4 tents for late veg into flower.
Thank you. I just ordered some great white a few days ago. I’ll post photos soon. Appreciate the feedback.
You… Are very welcome @Iamklasik!
I love those risers, but I’m cheap. Instead of buying those I hit the attic and raided the Lego collection from my adult children. Ten minutes later I had the most flexible and inexpensive risers I could muster at the time. Like I said, I’m a bit of a miser.
@Blaze_Up_Ahab I know what your saying. Unfortunately, just couldn’t find anything around.
@Iamklasik
On hydro builder dot com look for “Grow1 Pot Elevator”
$6.93 each.
These are awesome. 13 inch.
I get it, @Growmoredank . I was lucky my children do not yet have kids of their own. I can sneak a few bricks here and there until they do.
Hey, welcome to the community Definitely ready for the transplant. After moving to The fabric pots Water in a six inch circular pattern around the small plant. Too early to water to run off Not enough Root structure To absorb all of the water. Three gallon fabric pots Will probably dry out in a couple of days.
