Whats best for a 4x4 ten? I have to fluctuate my humidity and temp stays about 69-76. Cool mist or warm mist humidifier? What the pros and cons?
I’ve never heard of a warm mist humidifier.
Cool mist humidifiers work using ultrasound, which also aerosolizes the minerals in water (unless you are using distilled or RO water) and those minerals appear as white dust in your grow area and on your plant. I use a wicking humidifier to avoid this.
We have both types, the woman gave me the “cool” one for my use. She keep the heated one inside. And she ended up using the heated one last week for an ear ache, worked great for her
Don’t think I’d want to use the heated one in a grow. Already dealing with higher then wanted temps.
Jinxd, went out, room 83 humidity 41% humidifier dead
I like the vornado 4 gallon evaporative humidifier tanks will last a few days only downfall is you have to rotate the pads daily to keep them nice and moist
Ok ill take a look. I have both warm and cool mist but the warm mist one always has mineral deposits in the bottom when I clean it out ever couple weeks.
I just picked this one up(below), the visosun one i had just cant bring the humidity over 50%. It just struggles to maintain. 4x4x8 to big for it. VIVOSUN Cool Mist Humidifier, 6L Quiet Ultrasonic Humidifier for Bedroom

@Fabio, have you gotten this and used it yet? I need one for a 4 x 4 x 8 also. How’s it working out for you? Thanks!
@sandune Yes. I am in late flowering, so Its off for now.
-The room I grow in is NOT hermetically sealed. The unit empties about every 3 days or so (turn it off to fill it, or you will have a reverse waterfall like i did, very strong fans even on lowest fan setting)
-Its fairly quiet on lowest settings, but can become rather loud at the highest.
-The humidity detection is attached to the power cord, about 1 foot away from the unit
-The unit itself brings whatever humidity level you want within 2-3hours, and has no issue holding say… 65-70%. I have no problem hitting every check-mark for the VPD
Overall, I am super happy I did this. Gave me more freedom of control, and less maintenance.
