So… using a ppfd monitor, im only getting maybe 250 ppfd at 18 inches above canopy with my HLG and nearly 500 with my Vivosun VS2000… what gives?
Sounds like something is broken. Should be the opposite when comparing the 2 lights.
This is what the HLG should be running at 18 invhes.
I would contact HLG definitely something not right

Try disconnecting the dimmer and see if it goes up.

Even with the dimmer disconnected it stays the same. It will dim down but it seems it only goes to 50%. The vivosun is twice as bright as the HLG
Wonder if they flashed the driver correctly. Just replaced a MW with that inventronics from them few months ago. They had to flash for the specific boards i had.

Wait a second check the INTERNAL dimmer if you havent already assuming it has one like the meanwells you could be outputting maximum on the outer dimmer but have the internal screw dimmer set super low( they usually have a rubber cap on the underside)

I thought about that after doing some research yesterday. Unfortunately there is not an internal dimmer that i could find. Hopefully ill hear something back from HLG today. I also inquired about the upgrade for the XL.
Lets cross our fingers and just hope its the driver. My autos are just now flipping and i need the light lol…

Just to update about the HLG issue. I called their warranty dept and explained the symptoms. I also told them that one of the negative connectors was broken on one of the panels. In the middle of all this, i asked about the cost to upgrade my xl from a 2 panel to 3. She advised what needed to happen and i was ready to upgrade and give my payment info. She then said since i was having issues with this one that i can keep the bad panel with the broken connector since it still works, send me a replacement so ill have 3 and then upgrade my driver for free!! Folks, you just dont find that type of customer service anywhere. Im definately a HLG fan for now on…

Its been 15 min since i got off the phone with them and ive already gotten a tracking number and itll be sitting on my front porch tomorrow
