Vivosun vs2000 vs HLG260XL

Do yourself a favor and put your dimmer in a project box to protect it. I used a Sierra Bullet box for my dual 260 Rspec.

@Blastfact no doubt. Im completely blown away. Ive read in the forums where they had awesome customer service and today just verified it. Honest folks just trying to do people right. Its a tight nit community and its people like that who make this alot less stressful.

@Blastfact i think the driver im getting is a internal dimmer. Im trying to stay away from external. I agree with putting it in a protective box because it could ground out very easily since it is exposed.

Glad they took care of it. This is why worth a bit more.

Exactly!

I’m firm believer that you shouldn’t see issues like this when spending at this level. It seems to happen a little more often recently which i can only assume this has to do with how big they’ve gotten and workforce issues that just about every industry is seeing. But i haven’t once seen am issue here they haven’t resolved, and they usually do a little something extra too.

@ChittyChittyBangin when you tested what was voltage and current you came up with? I never asked, but are boards wired in series or parallel?

@dbrn32 i was only getting 60v and pulling 0.6 amps. The driver wasnt even lukewarm. They are wired in series. I also wired them in seperately just for S&Gs and still the same outcome. I tried disconnecting the dimmer also with no hope. The lady said theyve had a few problems with those drivers esp since covid. I agreed with her. In my world, we throw chinese steel products everyday and the quality control has gone through the floor. Ive lost alot of money because of it.

This is what made me ask. There’s no way to pull full power from a single board. Running 2 boards in parallel would be the same at driver as Running 1 board, only pulling the 60ish volts but dividing the full available current between both boards if 2 boards were wired in parallel.

Do you have a pic of board wiring the way it sits?

I have them wired as follows… negative from driver to negative on panel one. Positive going to panel 2. I then have one wire connecting the positive side one panel 2 and negative side on panel 1.

Wired properly then. Any chance there is ground condition around broken connector?

Sorry you had the problem but holy crap that’s awesome customer service! I’m glad that I listened to the advice here and went with hlg

@Storm

Because of that awesomeness of customer service, my buddy just dropped a couple of bucks on a refurbished Scorpion Rspec for his grow. He was very interested in HLG and this just sealed the deal.
