I have zero room to prune wich is why i did this to try and get those underlying buds to grow that normally doesn’t get any light

Can’t say for sure what it would do, but my stoned brain just thought of some type of omnidirectional light that encircles the light. I wonder if something like that would work?

It wont do anything. The light receptors are on the tops of the leaves only.

Took awhile for me to see the light on the floor too…no need to Google…first thing that jumped into my head.

You got a test right a while back some crazy high number like 28 or 30%. Were them lights part of that grow

No. These were added just before I started this grow.

True that the receptors are on the tops of the leaves, but photons will travel through the bottoms to the tops of the leaves & into the receptors. Also, the leaves & stems can turn/ bend towards the lower light if it is strong enough, particularly if there is a lot of blue in the spectrum.

@Newt
How did you attach them to the tent walls??

I like the concept. Does it impact your DLI reading on the top of the plant. Due to the position, I’m guessing no?

They have integrated magnets, and a bar that goes on the outside, so they clamp magnetically. And no, they don’t affect the DLI at the canopy, but they provide a fair DLI do the sides of the plants, and I rotate the plants daily, so that the coverage is more even.

@Newt
Thanks
I may order some.

Yes that will and does in fact i do it too, just with different side fills.

Yes but as @Newt has displayed pics of a grow with additional side fill lighting, this is a much more efficient way of adding light…better and quicker results

I have 2 sets in my 2x2. I have them on my high cfm bars, which i can move up and down. I also have 2 additional bars I can place to make beams under the canopy. Placing them at a downward angle from above does help DLI and par values in the corners, just depends on how far away you place them and setting they are on. On the newest set I ordered they came with extra extension cables which makes them more adjustable throughout the space.
