Using Lights Under Canopy?

I think I saw that plants cannot uptake like from the underside of a leaf.

I’m fairly certain you are correct, however leaves will flip and turn towards a light source.

Not gonna argue that, just pointing out that photons can make it through the leaf, from the bottom of the leaf to the top & into the receptors.
Glad to see more side-lighting again. LEDs should make it a lot better. I remember a grower on original OG who ran something like a 4x4 scrog with one or two 1000W HIDS, something like that. He eventually added something like a four-bulb T8 4’ tube reflector fixture on each side, to compare. Long & the short of it was he got better buds throughout, but had issues with heat & maybe power draw. I think he switched again & built a big cube-scrog, & then a ‘cube collosseum’ out of chicken wire, & just hanging the HID in the middle, although that might have been a different grower, it was a while ago.
