Using kelp as a follar application

I am curious on the use of kelp as a spray in week 4 or 5 in flower. It is said to promote bud stacking and huge buds. I guess you also use calmag. And put nutes at 0 - 10 - 10. to stop vertical growth Just wondering if this works

Spraying plants in flower will increase chances of mold and bud rot. Only time Iā€™d spay is if I had bugs/pests

I kinda on the same wave as @Dave101, only if I had to to get some pest gone

it is also said that spraying anything in flower hurts trichome production, even in early flower when trichomes are not visible.
