For anyone reading the post before and thought I was comparing myself to @Myfriendis410 with a shotgun, I wasnt lol. Theres a HUGE difference between his sport and mine. I dont have to shoot and he does. That squirrel has no idea I’m there when I shoot and Alan’s target is falling pretty fast toward earth lol.
From the posts of yours I’ve been spotting you seem excited for the move. I hope you and your family love it
I shoot with all skill levels and enjoy the byplay more than the shooting. My buddy is really looking forward to my being there as he can get some good coaching from someone that is a: not afraid of him and b: because I’ve proven I can shoot.
He and I don’t have anyone to go to the rifle range with and it does make things easier with two. So looking forward to that too.
@Myfriendis410, good luck with the move, I hope everything goes as planned, you sound like quite the marksman, while I do like a good target shoot, they had an open day at the range and we got to shoot everything from handguns to shotguns, pump and double barrell, big guage rifles, semi-auto tactical .22 calibre etc.
I’m must admit, I’m more like @Gremmall in the stealth approach, judging wind direction so they don’t catch my scent, cautiously approaching, so your quarry doesn’t know you’re there, until it’s too late, I like shooting, but with a bow it’s like silent death, it’s all over before hearing a sound.
I’m not a sports hunter, I’m more of a survival hunter. Everything I have killed, I have eaten and used every part of the animal. I have a feeling one day my skills will be useful.
'Sup @QueenCityB my fellow gromie.
Thanks bro, I just got a flash of memories of my Dad, who sadly passed when I was 15, brought a large smile to my face, thank you my friend
Only kill what we eat here in this house as well my friend. I love to shoot. Grew up hunting and shooting, put in a lot of range time in the Army. And I mean ALOT !
There is nothing quite as exciting as working your way into a group of big hogs without them knowing a thing, waiting until you can pick a good boar out (we don’t shoot sows) and wait for that perfect quartering shot to miss the plate. Then; putting a Rage 2-blade all the way through and bury in the sand behind it. All the other hogs going: “what just happened?” while the other one ambles along for 20 yards and falls over dead.
Or having a big mule deer walk right under your stand and you shank him square in the pumper at 10 yards.
Good times.
Or the time my truck broke down while hunting with a 1- and 3-star general haha.
Man after my own heart @ReconBravo, my Uncle taught me to hunt when I was 8. He used to say “Don’t destroy what you came to enjoy, my boy” I never realised how good a hunter he was, until I hunted with other people.
You too @Myfriendis410, I do love the rush of a thrilling hunt. As I was saying my Uncle taught me, one time we were out hunting hogs. The dogs went ballistic, but were still in cages, as we hadn’t arrived at our destination, guns still locked away. We get out of the ute, planning to release the dogs, and we are standing in tall grass. My Uncle senses something wrong and we walk towards the front of ute, dogs are trying to break the cage and in panic by now. Suddenly this huge boar, 250 - 300kg + launches out the long grass and charges (the ute doors are already closed, all weapons still inside) We scale a tree, vaulting off the bullbar and quickly climb as high as safe. The raging boar, barely missing us, collides with the ute, moving the whole vehicle sideways. Now we are stuck up a tree, with a homicidal boar terrorising the dogs and destroying the ute. I don’t know how long we were up there, but I was very hungry and thirsty by the time that big bastard was done toying with us and left Good times alright!
GL - week 9/6 veg.
Sisters have had more training and a hair cut this week, still trying to maintain the canopy, have also made more progreas on the PQB tent, hung the exhaust and tested temps and RH, without A/C, then started sealing up the separating wall (tedious job, so asked the wife to help , poor woman didn’t know what she was in for).
She seems healthy over-all, but haven’t seen new growth look like that before. We have had some high humidity days, but I have been controlling that with A/C. Just as a precautionary measure I turned light down to 50%.
You rang? I’m just winding down from a busy day, still up with no sign of falling asleep anytime soon…not stalking you or anything
Looks like they might be shying away from the light. I don’t think the high humidity did that, looks more like low humidity, or too hot…heat stress, anyway. If your pH is a little off the leaves will come in kinda funky like that, sometimes, too.
This is not something I’ve experienced yet, thankfully, so I can’t help and I don’t like guessing so I will let them what know more than me diagnose for you. The plants look real healthy overall so I’m curious what this is.
As am I, there have been zero issues, not even tip burn. Weather has been crazy lately so most probably that, the other sister is fine, but has always been more stoic than the GL? I love a good mystery
