Hi growmies’ just wondering plants coming down for drying this weekend how many hours do i wait untill i start harvesting ive heard of growers leaving they’re in darkness for 24hours me iv always turned my light of 8pm then the next day i cut it down and hang
If you take away a plant’s light, you take away its energy source to produce and maintain trichomes.
You shouldnt. Better would be 48 hours of light. I was a 48 hours dark person in The begining but it has been disproven as helpful.
Hahaha morning @MidwestGuy
Good morning, sir.
24 hours of darkness. 24 hours of light. It’s not going to make your plant gro more or grow less IMO.
Your plant has grown what it is going to grow.
That said I like to cut mine after a full dark cycle before lights come on. I mean absolute dark can’t see nothing. Have to be use to area and feel your way.
Reasoning I read that when the lights go off the nutrients travel down to the roots. When the lights come back on it takes the plant milliseconds to send the nutrients back up to the needed area’s. So I do it to avoid the nutrients. I don’t add any extra time to the dark because I think extra time does nothing.
Does this actually work. I don’t know. Do I care nope. It’s just what I do. From what my family has told me great great grandma said you plant potatoes on good Friday rain snow wind it don’t matter plant them for a better crop. So for 4 generations my family plant potatoes on good Friday come hell or high water. Does it work I don’t know it’s just what we do.
I harvest before lights on in complete darkness. If I am teaching a friends or family how to grow. I tell them to harvest in complete darkness for better tasting weed.
Does it work I think so. Does it really I don’t know but in 4 generations one of my family is going to tell someone. My great great grandpa said harvest in the dark for better tasting weed.
Frogot to add when ready to harvest do whatever makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Mind over matter.
