Today would normally be feed day. Considering the state of these tricomes, is this the time to start flushing or do you think another feed is in order? They are in a 4x4 tent in 5 gal. soft pots. Usually takes 6-7L per water/feed, have noticed no reduction in uptake. They are in the 800-1000ppm range for runoff at 8 weeks of flower.
Many growers no longer flush before harvest. I just stop feeding a week or so before harvest. Not because I believe it makes a difference in taste or smoothness, but because it saves time and a bit of money on nutes. All a plant is doing that last week is ripening flower and nutrient demand naturally goes down.
I’ve found that a plant’s water consumption will go down around harvest time since the plant is essentially done growing. It’s one of the things I look for around harvest time.
@MidwestGuy Yes, just planning to water only to finish. If these were yours, would you water only beginning at about now or do you think maybe another feed?
I can’t see the whole plant and haven’t been able to track its progress. It’s hard for me to say. Every plant can be a little different. I would want to see a good bit of cloudiness before I went to water only, but I like a good bit of amber when I harvest, and that can take a couple of weeks.
When you harvest is up to your taste in trichomes. If you want amber you may have 3ish weeks to go. I wouldn’t want to withhold feeding 3 weeks out, but that’s based on my taste. Yours may be different.
It’s gonna get crowded in there. Three photos just popped, a chocolope and 2 super lemon hazes. This next grow will be our first attempt at photos. May start a thread just for them, so when it comes topping time we’ll have you guys to rely on for advice.
