Trichromes? My plants are only 8 weeks old

Hello, I have a question about two young plants that I have noticed what looks like trichromes! Both are 8 weeks 3 days old, both are Bubblegum strain that I got as part of a buy 1 get 1 type of deal. I have been noticing a skunkie type of order in my grow room for around the last 4 weeks or so. I decided to take a closer look today and take some photos as close as I could with my phone, and then enlarged them as much as I could. And sure enough, it was looking like trichromes! So I thought that can’t be right, so that’s why I came here. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it, I’m confused. I’ll attach pictures, I will try to find my microscope also if needed.

well that is not trichomes…they will never form on the stems/branches …you have something else happening …bugs—mold not sure which but with a smell I might lean towards mold of some kind

Yea I wouldnt call those trichs neither. But sticky anything forming this early? With exceptional funk? Clone her asap!!!

Technically you’re right. They are trichomes, but not the way we understand trichomes in relation to cannabis generally.

Think about a tomato plant. The stems have little almost microscopic hairs that look like white fuzz and feel odd on your fingertips. Those are trichomes. They wont get you high. They are not THC-bearing trichomes.

All is well with your plant. (At least as far as I see with the pics included).

Thanks for your reply, I was just thinking that these 2 girls are going too be exceptionally potent. I just got 3 new dwc buckets and equipment too do just that cloning them.

Thanks for your quick response, when I open the door to my grow room, the skunk smell will be bowl you over! I was thinking of trying to clone her, I just got 3 dwc buckets to try cloneing her. I keep posting to let you my progress. I’m just debating when to start the 12 -12 hours, but I don’t have room to separate the clones from the other plants.

I typically don’t get the weed smell until flower starts…I start my 12/12 at 6 weeks on Photo’s in my hydro setup…
