Transplanted to 1 gallon pot 7/20 had a good root ball established in starter pot.
Been a week and grown well. Should I move to my 7 gallon pot now? Leaves are getting caught in pot.
One in question is the larger plant in back.
Plant in front has grown fast too, would you transplant both?
Top pic is current, bottom pic was from 7/20
Yes you can definitely transplant although sense they have only been in these pots for a week only therea a good chanve they haven’t pit down alot of new roots yet so id be very careful removing thwm from there 1 gallon bags i personally hate transplanting from fabric pots its a BIT** to get them out carefully impo i use plastic 1 gallon pots then transplant to fabric pots it makes the process much easier impo
Thank you @LiesGrows
I originally planned on using 1 gallon plastic pots, I have them but made a last second decision on the fabric ones. Have read (after the fact) that they are a pain to transfer from. Doing the plastics going forward.
That’s what I was worried about, 1 week isn’t a lot for root growth. Do you think it would be ok to give them another week?
Absolutely another week would guarantee that the roots have expanded into the new soil well enough for a easier transplant
Autoflower? If so then no. Photo, Id wait a couple weeks yet. You can always cut the bag off to do transplant. They arent super expensive cloth bags.
@Docnraq no, they are photo’s
Very true, they are cheap. Thank you
Exactly what i did transplanting my 1st plant from a fabric pot i just took the 20 bone loss and cut them all if yoir any good at sewing tho if you cut 1 straight line down the bag you can sew in velcro and re use them the velcro slit would make transplanting alot easier if you wanted to go that route lol
Anytime growmie! Plants look healthy.
Thank you! So much fun too. Haha I’m no good at sewing but my wife(who I got into this for) is very good at it lol
There ya go haha my wife did mine also just allows you to get more usage out of them rather than just trashing them the world ia already full with enough crap already
Exactly!
Since I’ll be leaving them. They are potted in FFOF, mushroom compost, worm castings and Dr earth flower girl. That should be plenty of nutrients for them correct? I plan on top dressing with Gia all purpose 4 4 4 and Gia power bloom 2 8 4 when needed.
Lol I saw those after i got the solid body ones. Live and learn
Yeah im aware lol like i said above tho i just wanted to re purpose instead of tossing out the original ones
She probably needs a few weeks between each transplant. In my opinion.
I like to use the fabric pots over the plastic. They allow the roots the obtain more oxygen and allows the soils to try out more evenly. Although they may be a pain to transplant from fabric to fabric the plants will eventually thank you.
Think about it this way… it might be more of an inconvenience to the grower at times but that’s ok. Because in the long run it’s about what’s best for the ‘plant’. Not what’s easier for the farmer.
There are pros and cons to both pots in this hobby you want to keep it simple and alow things to work foe you rather having things complicated and you working for them lol
I highly recommend the transplanter type fabric pots with the Velcro side. Cheap at 247garden
This is a 1 gallon transplanter but you can do the same thing.
Set your plant on another pot to elevate it. Carefully roll the side of the bag down to expose the soil & root. The soil should be damp / moist so it hold together better. Take your take and you shouldn’t have a problem
Thank you @beardless
