So I’m starting to transplant my autos at least once. I transplanted a StarDawg auto 3 times my last harvest and the last time was when the plant was a little past halfway through flower. It continued to ripen her flowers and it’s my current smoke at the moment.
Here I transplanted 2 Charlie Sheen autos…. Do you all think they will be stunted?
Happy growing y’all
In my opinion autos grow so fast that you should just put them in the final pot from sprout or seedlings to prevent shock. Everything you do shocks them a little and they don’t have time to recover. This is a picture of a auto that took 11 weeks and went straight into a 5 gallon container at 2” in size
Nice video that’s cool.
Yeah I’m just going to transplant 1 time from here on out. Start them in a tray or solo then into final home. I’m not really worried about them getting huge. I have photoperiods for that. With autos I want the quick turn around between my photoperiods so I’m ok with them staying stout if they do.
I have been starting plants in lil half gallon or smaller grow bags, then transplanting the whole bag into a bigger bag. Like a tiered up wedding cake. The roots grow thru the bag like nothings there, especially if you countersink the starter lil pot 1/3 of the nestled into the new pot. No root disruptions and I often load the lower pot with hotter soil.
Seedling in a half gallon, moved to a 5 gallon, moved to a 15 gallon. It’s amazing to me how well they can grow thru grow bags. If you ever left a grow bag on the ground outdoor then you know what I am talking about. It is not a barrier at all. This is a pineapple guava but you get the idea.
Bonus, if you run cover crops (I strawberries) the tiered rim of the new soil is an ideal spot for cover crops!
@noddykitty1 i think I’m going to try this with my cucumbers and maybe other vine fruits that I will be growing in my greenhouse this year.
I’ve seen some people do this with cannabis especially in organic set ups.
