A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks.
" I’m on my first ever grow. I friend turned me on to ssh about 2 1/2 yrs ago. I have 3 plants that are 2 months old. (outdoor grow) .Their about 3ft tall. 2 of them are in 2 1/2 gal pots and the 3rd is in a 6 or 7 gal pot. I was told by a grower to remove big fan leaves, which i did yesterday. 20 leafs I pulled off total. After reading some articles, was I supposed to do this? Any advise would be appreciated. thanks"
So here’s how I roll: I only remove leaves that are old and diseased looking, to aid in air flow or to help train the plant for more even light. This is distinct from pruning for increasing tops and subsequent yields. Other than that no I would not, because those leaves are producing sugar for the plant.
I start removing fan leaves once in full budding…
Only do the yellow and sick looking…
Its not unusual to end up with nothing but the flowers at the time of harvest…
But do it very gradually…
You be fine
I with @Myfriendis410
I don’t remove any of my fan leaves unless it during veg and I’m pruning during training but once mine are flowering I won’t prune or remove any leaves except for the dead ones
They need the sugars from those leaves in the final stages imo
I sure your girl will be fine but don’t remove anymore
Fan leaves
If you would please post a picture for us thanks
Happy growing
