Wishing you luck.
Thx, Hell guy.
I want to join, suffering plants over here too.
Consider yourself joined. And suffering plants? Do tell.
I have seen some people say to drop those clear cups in red ones. Apparently the roots don’t like light. Noobies helping noobies. I am one of those who just dropped my seeds in a cup and then had the bright idea " maybe I should learn how to take care of these" I have ordered stuff, just trying to keep them alive until things are delivered and without loving them to death at this point…lol. Happy growing!
Oh, how interesting about the clear cup light and roots thing. I had not heard that. I just liked the clear ones because I could see how wet the soil was.
Yeah, clear cups would not have been my first choice (roots and light sensitivity), but I figure most of the roots are going to be inside the soil rather than at the edges for a while, when you start seeing roots, maybe a good idea to drop the clear cup in a not clear cup, or transplant.
That’s easy. I can fix that tomorrow.
Those look great! I had a seedling get to about that point, one time. Then I put seedling fertilizer on it, and the plant obediently died.
My seeds are still cooking in Happy Frog at about 77 F. No domes. No misting. No fertilizer. No touch.
@Larry keep us posted, am doing the same method, just red cups:) mine are 20 minutes in the oven!
I always use blue cups, has a better spectrum for seedlings, if your seeds don’t sprout I’ll blame it on the cup color. ![]()
Will do. I bought some red cups today! What strain are you growing, Zee?
On my first grow ever (1978 or so - I was 14 years old), the sprouts got about that big then I gave them a nice big dose of Miracle Grow fertilizer, burned them right up and they died right quick. But it was just mexican brick bag seed so no great loss, had thousands more seeds. Next time, I gave tiny amounts of the MG and actually got them into flowering, then the spider mites came, I used some organic pesticide that made the buds taste like jalepeno peppers and stung your lips, was horrible, had to trash the harvest.
I’ve been doing much better since then.
