The Phoenix Grow

@dbrn32

Hello everyone,

I’m going to give you my impressions of the Eye Hortilux SE 600 Ceramic Grow Grow Light System.

I purchased two of them in March of this year for 435.00 each including shipping.

When I opened the Hortilux branded box the first thing I noticed was how well packaged it was.

The bulb boxes were on the top along with cardboard inserts separating both the 120 volt and 220 volt power cords that are included.

The housing and non detachable ballist are built very well. You can tell the quality of the unit by looking at it.

About the bulbs;

Here’s where I along with many others have issues with Hortilux.

The new Hortilux “” Blue “” Metal Halide bulb has an impressive usable spectrum.
The problem I had along with quite a few others is that the factory had quality control issues that resulted in many of the bulbs being shipped broken.

Out of the two systems I bought, one of the those bulbs was indeed broken.
I contacted the dealer I bought the systems from and they immediately sent out a replacement.

I received the bulb unbroken and tested it.
It fired and all was well, or so I thought.

Where that replacement bulb was fine and now is being used, the other metal halide bulb all though unbroken, will not fire. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I’ve contacted the dealer and they’re sending me another bulb.
The ceramic HPS bulbs I originally received are both good.

Outside of these quality control issues I’ve found this lighting system very high quality.
The workmanship is obvious.

Would I buy another SE 600 system?
Yes but I will immediately check the viability of the bulbs.

I’ll write another review of the performance of this system once this grow has finished.
I’m including some images of the unit along with the bulbs that are included with the system.
Note the Mc Cree spectrum of each bulb.

Talk to everyone shortly.

Be well.:slightly_smiling_face::+1:
