Switching lights to flower

I’m ready to switch my plants to flower. Do i go 12/12 keeping the veg and bloom switches on or do i go with only bloom switch?

Congratulations!! :+1:t2: Bloom 12/12

First grow so I’m really trying to not screw this up. My last tops were cut 13 days ago. I trimmed most of the lower growth 5 days ago. I flushed 4 days ago and 2 days ago so no salt in medium. Anything else I should do before I flip the switch. How long before I feed them with FF. I was gonna do 1/2 recommended dosage.

Actually run both. You will need all the help you can get.

So I run both 1000watt LED lights on veg and bloom until harvest?

I agree with MrPeat…both. those aren’t true 1000w lights

You will be lucky if you draw 400 watts from the wall.
So yeah…juat adjust the height if its to hot or cold on the cops he hand just above the top if the plant.

And lower the lights to how far away from tops? Should I let them keep vegging? Everything I see says the plant will double in size so when they reach half the distance to the light throw them in to flower. This is 8th week of veg.

How much bud do you want to harvest? If I were you, I’d drop those burples and invest in some HLG or a MH HPS set up. Lights are the single most important and expensive part of a successful indoor grower. That light won’t do you much for flower, I bought one advertising 1500w, it’s truth, it’s 230w…boy did Amazon refund me quickly  I now run true 600w MH and huge difference.

I’d start with a 1/4 of recommendation dose of FF trio. That is a blanket recommendation, I don’t know what soil you’re using, but if you just flushed, she is probably hungry. FF trio feeding schedule is aggressive, I’ve seen nute burn from growers using it all full recommendation. You also need to read the plants, those pictures under burple light aren’t best. If the plant is light green, she needs nutes, if dark green(healthy) skip a feeding and just pH watered.

Thanks for the info. First grow and was ilol advised on lighting. Right now i have a 4x2 tent with 4 plants. It’s getting tight. If you’ll recommend a light i’ll order it asap. I have a lot of effort and love going on for these plants. haha! Obviously like to maximize yield but am also fascinated by what’s going on here. Fing beautiful. So when veg leaves are green and the tips are light green they’re nutrient deficient? Using ff ocean for medium.

You got one of my idols about to reply!!!

Lol, so many people fall for the Amazon blurple lights. I did as well. As stated, don’t cheap out on lights. HLG makes some amazing lights, some of the best.
Good luck and happy growing!

Agree with MrPeat, Run both. Start at 18inches from the tops of plants. Run your hand over tops and if hand gets hot, raise it a few inches until your hand dont get hot. I dont start feeding bloom nutes until I see bud sites starting . You want nitrogen to help the plants thru the stretch. For lights, Check out HLG 260 v2 rspec

Are these any good. If so what’s the difference. If i’m going to order light should i wait to Go 12/12 or start with what I have or will it matters. Any light will be 5-7 day arrival.

Between those 2, I’d go for the ones with the 660nm deep red, better for flowering and fine for seed to harvest as well, but I’d be looking at the HLG 260w v2 rspec kit or the XL model for a bit more space between the led panels (a favorite for 4x4 tent guys, they usually get 2 XL’s, 1 would be fine for 4x2). Would not hurt to wait for new light before flowering, let your plants veg up a bit more if you have the space and height, or start flowering now and swap lights when possible if space is becoming an issue.

Am I counting right? 4 photos in a 2x4 and you are 8 weeks in. They are going to get know each real well. I have 4 in a 3x3 It isn’t much more space, just how it is configured

this is the underside of the smallest one
I went to 12/12 on day 55. Today is day 73. It took them a week to start pushing pistils. They have grown about 8-9 inches (about 75% of height) since the switch.

From about the second node from the top I tied down to my pot handles. This gave them more of a long and narrow shape instead of round bush. Then they are staggered in position. It’s definitely getting tight. The negative pressure inside tent is creeping in to some of the veg leaves.

If you have a screened vent on the bottom you can open it to help reduce the neg. pressure.
I installed an intake fan to help with that but not completely (it would be a hurricane in the tent) I am Scrogging this run so that pushes the sides back out. I have used twine and coated wire run from pole to pole to reduce the amount the sides collapse in. Your plants look great. Good luck.

As mentioned the HLG 260 v2 R-Spec XL kit would be a great choice for your 4x2 space. The light will run you about 360 bucks to your door. To grow solid buds that’s a small price to pay. Just my thoughts good luck with your grow.

Hey again! I’m ready to pull the trigger on the light upgrade. So much time and love for these pretty ladies I’d like to do them right. So check this out. The census over all is HLG 260 V2 R-Spec XL kit…I go to find a cart and push the button and it’s sold out in the continental United States. Lol. Go figure. That’s 2020 for ya! Any other recommendations on a light for these ladies in a 4x2. I appreciate everyone’s opinions and knowledge.
