I have some plants that are a few weeks into veg that I’d love to get under my 1000w HPS to bulk up faster. Trouble is my light is currently running 12/12 for at least another 3weeks to finish out the current crop.
This is probably nuts but can I switch my lights to 18/6 in the flowering tent and toss some plants in to veg while the flowering ones wrap up or is that asking for big trouble?
Big trouble. Your flowering plants will discontinue flowering and focus on returning to veg.

I ask mainly because back in the fall I had a vegging plant accidentally get stuck in a flowering area for about a week and it started flowering (as you might imagine) and when brought back under 18/6 light never actually reverted to veg and instead continued flowering all the way to the end. I left it under 18/6 and then increased to 24h after a few weeks and never. Never stopped flowering
That’s interesting. Sounds like an auto. What lights are you vegging under?
It was a clone of a photo vegging under T5 at 24h. It was moved into my garage for a week under 1000w HPS at 18/6 and then back to the T5 at 24h. It never reverted and basically grew stunted tiny little non existent buds with a small amount of trichome production. It was very strange.

Nope, i wasnt in a rush to get them to flower I would have been fine if they took all winter to revert and I put em out in the spring but they basically finished up under 24h and died. Nothing usable came from them
Should have put them back to 12/12 and they should have built flower again
I’ve had this happen to some regular seeds. After 3 weeks of 24h I gave up on getting them to reveg, and put them back into flower.
Im sure it stopped flowering after 10 to 14 days just with the bud on it it did not seem like it. If it got new veg or new green it prolly went into reveg but the bud being on it already didnt seem like it revehged. I had one do this to me a clone and i had to cut off all tge bud that was formed before the reveg because it would have just been budrot if i left it how it was.
Yeah I probably could have cleared 3-4g of tiny popcorn buds. I don’t consider it a big loss. At the time I felt like the plant was way too small to allow to flower and I had planned to veg it for another 4 weeks before flowering but in retrospect if I had treated it right I would have at least got a bit of nice enough bud.
I did actually strip the buds off after it was clear it wasn’t revegging but it grew some new little tiny buds and just kept on. It was weird.
Now that I recall the whole thing was weird. I had taken those clones for the plant in question from my outdoor that was already a week or so into flower. They grew and vegged just fine but they sure did kick into flowering quickly. Like two days of 12/12 and they were in full bloom it was kinda nuts.
