Sunday in the lab - trichomes

Amnesia haze auto day 113 - patiently waiting for it to finish. Getting closer.
I took a sample mid flower of one of its main colas. Basically of same spot with increasing magnification

Had to zoom in more before I could find any amber. Not many and light. S20200503_0013 S20200503_0014 S20200503_0017
Do you think it is ready for 48 hrs in dark isolation? Or, give her a couple more days? More clear than cloudy. I am thinking check again on Tuesday then off to the closet.

I’d let it go longer. I couldn’t give you a time frame but I chop mine once it’s mostly cloudy and some beginning to look amber

I hope you will find this helpful. I still see plenty of clear, so it depends on what you are looking for from your harvest. I’ve found that it takes several days to notice much of a change in the color of the trichs.

That is what I am after too

40/60 clear/ cloudy when I put her in dark. It has been 6 days since I last checked them. I little progress

WOW @beardless, you should have been a photographer these pictures are AWESOME.

How do you take these samples from your Girls for closer inspection?

Are you basing your harvest based on the main Cola as it seems the farthter down the Girls you go the less mature the Buds are?

Going to try some more pictures tonight !!! Got the Drying Room cleaned and painted so now all if need it the Girls to participate.

thanks - looking for something between 50/50 and cloudy

Pick a calyx and snip it w/ scissors. I had a picture of one in Amnesia Haze bud & trichs image . The one in the picture is a little larger than I try for. I posted this picture in the blueberry auto thread image. I replaced the flex stand with this aluminum one. Between the height adjustment and focus you can zero in fairly well. Basic limitation is depth of field with the higher magnifications.

That is the tough part. If I can, I will just cut what is ready and let the rest of it go a couple more days, maybe more. A lot of the smaller buds from the bottom end up in the freezer. I have an excess inventory problem. I was planning on doing bubble hash and some extracts with it but have not gotten that far yet. Some of it I just cure and dry sieve it to make pucks with a t-handle press.
Heading back to the garden. Planted the onion sets this morning. Now garden peas and snow peas.
I’ll plant peas 2 different times to extend the harvest period.

Thanks @beardless,

Your insight is greatly appreciated !

You are several grows ahead of me and your end results have been awesome and your research and willingness to share are untouchable !!!

Thanks again
