I started 5 green crack fem seeds for outdoor garden and 3 of them are looking beautiful, but 2 of them came up with seed hats stuck on. They have since come off, but it took over a week and they are way behind the others. Has anyone had this happen to them, and should I toss these 2 and start over, or will they recover and do ok?
This happened to my very first plant I grew. Helmet head for 4 days. It was an auto that stayed 3" tall for her first 3 weeks, but grew to 18" and 2 dry oz. If you’re growing photos, they should recover. Autos, it’s kind of a toss up.
Don’t toss them! I’ve had a few with helmet head, this sometimes happens when the seed isn’t planted deep enough to push the husk off as she’s breaking ground. Anyway their behind the others because the cotyledons were covered up not taking in light. They’ll surprise you in a week or so and probably will catch up. This happened on some autos by the way
@meis for future grows there’s folks that plant the tail up so it then twists back down to avoid helmet head. There’s vids on it and also of ways to safely wet the seed case with an eye dropper to soak then safely remove. And what they said lol @Borderryan22 @OGIncognito
Exactly and a little spit works as well
Spit and a thumb nail is all I’ve ever needed.
Let them grow this happens alot normally u would lightly spray water on them and then carefully remove the seed husk
