I’m out of likes haha, tag me on that. I have some Strawberry Kush seeds sittin in my personal seed bank right now
About 20 bag seed from some alright smoke, I’d say above average bag smoke. 3 strawberry kush fem, 9 white widow autos, 1 ak47 auto, 2 Big Bud fem and 2 Sour diesel fems haha
Grow Note:
Today is 73 days since the seed popped. She has been in total darkness for almost 48 hours now. Will open the box tomorrow and get going on trimming the branches for drying.
I hear both ways on trimming off the leaves. I do not take all of them off because it dried too quickly the time I did that. I left all of it on one time and it just seemed to be a longer wait for no difference in the quality. I go for taking some off but still leave a few leaves to partially cover the bud. I think the big thing on drying is to not hurry the process.
This grow I am also going to post the root ball in the fabric bag. I’m interested in what the roots look like. I’m thinking it will be pretty healthy .
Hey Jerry,
Love the grow box. Love the strawberry. So stoked about the fruity mixpacks going up here.
Anyway about the humidor. I have a few different ones. Two are vintage tobacco humidors that I keep my ground Sour D and Bubba Kush in for my Volcano and rolling joints. I got them on eBay and they’re a lot bigger than I thought they’d be. I put a few 8gm Boveda packs in those.
Is that a 5 gallon bucket? Wow ![]()
very nice looking, eBay, eh?
I’m on my way there, now!
You just sold me on the bodeva packs, 2015? That’s impressive
Nice ! Does the top have an airtight seal on it ? I have a stainless steel one that holds about a half pound and another one that holds about a pound. Haven’t gotten to fill that yet but hoping my mainline will help me with that ! Like those earthenware humidors. Gonna have to look up on e-bay.
Yea, those Boveda packs are the cats pajamas for curing and storing. Hoping that I will start to get a stash built up. Have been growing in the small grow box and it does great but i just need more medicine on hand.
Comoy’s of London was the maker of those. I had to scrounge the loose hardware drawers at the local store to replace the rubber washer and seal on the green one. It definitely seems to have seen more use than the gray one.
I could see myself loosing those clips on the one you have in a matter of a few days. heh
That grow filled four of them my man. 8.5 lbs of cured Sour D and Bubba Kush. Just about an even split of 10 gallons of each. This is what’s left after 15.5 months of smoking to my heart’s content, experimenting with edible recipe after recipe. and sharing within a small circle of friends nationwide via parcel post.
I’m looking at picking up the leaktite1 gallons buckets and lids for the DownEast 12 since there’s only gonna be 1 of each strain and I absolutely don’t want to mix any of them together.
That’s awesome. That’s a goal of mine, eventually down the road haha
Not lost the clips on it yet but I am afraid it is not as sturdy as I really need.
It was a present from a lady friend that I grew some medicine for. She passed from the cancer but was always thankful to me for helping her from having a horrible death in the hospital. She just sat home, stayed stoned and we had marathon backgammon games for months. A Wonderful Lady. She died peacefully and happy. Kind of sad she passed but was glad to help her with her suffering.
I’m sorry to hear that, but I’m glad you could ease her suffering with some good medicine.
I’m “watching” one now but meh on the color…time to practice patience, I like the style!
Sure seems a lot easier to accomplish if you can get anything going outdoors or have the dedicated floor space and budget for heat, lights, and the rest of that stuff.
If we think the 18 I grew in 2015 was great I can only imagine how much better this grow will be with all the experience and advice of all of you fine folks and what I keep learning over the years from each successive grow.
About the same number of plants barely got me from 2014 to 2015 the grow before last. I didn’t know anything about General Hydro’s Kool Bloom at the time.
You really have to shop around not to overpay for them. Sometimes you can fin them on etsy too.
They’re handsome and huge and were made for generations of uninterrupted use, unlike anything being manufactured today.
Prior to that I was using clear plastic pint Gelato Fiasco containers with duct tape on the outside them to block the light. An 8gm Boveda pack fit nicely in the lid but had to be replaced about every 3-4 weeks. I haven’t changed them in these new ones in the 3 months or so since I picked them up.
Those Comoy’s of London ones are airtight. The 5 gal buckets too.
most of the wooden humidor don’t appeal to me, some of the metal ones might hold someone’s ashes, there are glass/ceramic ones but I break glass/ceramics…I can wait for the right one, Comoy’s works for me…thank you for that discerning
eye!
@TxGrowman, just read your post, how did the strawberries turn out? What’s the best way to keep seeds, you kept yours for quite some time?
@Zombo Tomorrow is harvest day ! ! Can’t wait for my grandchildren to leave so I can get started. I had a “taste” of it on a branch that I broke when doing LST. Dried it for a few days then finished it in the Microwave. It lost some potency due to “vaping” some of the THC out but I kept the cycles short and it came out nice. The test weed was great and I can imagine how much better it will be when dried and cured properly. Am posting the root mass tomorrow as I am interested in the root ball. My first cannabis grow with the fabric bags and want to see if the roots are that much better. I know one thing for certain, it looked nicer than any plant I have grown.
I keep my seeds in a gun lock box that sits on the floor. The stay cool and dry. I believe that is the only things that you really have to worry about. I have some seeds that are 5 years or older and they germinate easily.
