Straight trichomes

I normally begin to harvest buds when the trichomes produce heads.
I’m currently growing 5 Blue Dream ladies. They are in full bloom and then some.
When I started checking the trichomes, they did not have heads so I let them grow for several more days. During that time the pistils started to turn amber. The trichomes never developed heads.
Is this normal for this strain?

Pistils will go amber long before trichs do.

Seems quite odd that your trichs haven’t developed heads. Have pics?

Hi:

Thanks for the speedy reply. I’m a little new to this so…
I was cutting little snips with scissors…see tri1 and tri2

Today I decided to cut two buds off separate parts of the plant. Left bud is towards top,
right bud is towards middle of plant. I’m noticing that in both buds the trichomes have heads.

Could I have been knocking off the heads in cutting just snippets?

Are they that fragile?

How about an overall shot of the plant in white light.

Is that first picture of pistils??

Can’t really tell color of trichomes under the yellow light.

plant shot

The whole plant please. In natural light.

Ok. How’s this?

I see heads on the trichomes in the Jan 31st 2018 pictures.

Your seem to be looking for heads on the pistils (the first 2 pics.) There are plenty of heads on the trichs on the flowers where they should be. Your plant is fine from that perspective.
