‘Dies the Fire’ by S.M. Stirling. excellent series
I got this storage technique from a commercial medical cannabis employee and retired food science professor of Cal Poly SLO. He also said they store all of their plant material fresh frozen and press the whole plant for their product line.
The big issue is frost-free versus non: the frost-free periodically cycle to above freezing to do their job and this cycling up and down breaks THC down into CBN so more couch lock and less high.
I seal my buds in 1/4 lb bags. I use the pulse vacuum function on my “Food Saver” to draw out most of the air. That way the buds don’t get crushed and maintain their shape.
I can’t say that this method is good one but it does work for me.
I wonder if putting canning jars in a pot of boiling water for 20 minutes, install weed, put lids on… do you think that would store weed long term? Works for food?
Sounds like broveda pack’s may do the same? Putting the weed in pre heated jars probably wouldnt do much harm, they would cool pretty fast and seal right tight. I dont bother doing that. If my weed lasts 1 year I know more weed is just around the corner! I end up giving most if it away anyhoo.
we store ours n mason jars with good lids. make sure the stuff is dry first . it will keep for months freezing will make all the triclomes fall off . and you will be disappointed in the quality. most stuff you get from the dispensary is a year old or more. keep it dry and free from air it will keep along time just in an air tight jar in good condition’s , not sunlight or wet environments!
Best way to store is in vacuum sealed jars. Your weed will last for over 2 years with very little loss in potency.
Vacuum seal with 62% humidity and store in a dark cool place. My friend is still using his from 9/17! BAM!
