High,
I’m a grow virgin and am experiencing info overload. I have a 1 week old wdc (gifted seed) and am wondering when to start seedling nutrient (ilgm 4 stage nutrient kit). It’s under light running at 25% currently. Happy Frog is the soil and the plant looks really healthy at this time. And how much nutrient should be added to water and how much should be placed around plant.
Thanks in advance.
HF is amended with nutrients that won’t be depleted for 4 to 6 weeks. At that point begin monitoring runoff PPM and feed as necessary to maintain a ~1,000 PPM.
As recommended by the manufacturer is a good place to start, then adjust as necessary to maintain your runoff PPM.
Welcome to the forum.
Thank you very much for the reply. I’m quite ignorant on the subject. I realize not to overwater at first and am just moisting around the plant. When beginning to feed, do I water through or continue just missing?
Thanks, y’all are awesome
Oh yeah, PPM?
PPM = Parts Per Million. It is used here as a measure of the nutrient concentration of a liquid.
Thank you
Saw on a different thread you stated not to feed until cotyledon leaves are gone. Perfect info!
At least until then. The above assumes inert media such as coco. Happy Frog is not inert and does not require feeding for at least 4 weeks from your last transplant.
Again, if in Happy Frog it will not be necessary for at least 4 weeks.
Start seedling nutes around 1-2 weeks, 1/4 to 1/2 strength for happy frog soil. follow ilgm instructions and add to water as needed, side dress with a small amount if you want.
I’d like to emphasize again - Happy Frog has sufficient nutrients for the first 4 weeks. Adding nutrients at this point may burn your plant.
Would it be okay to use Tribus or Great white during seedling stage to help the roots along…
I agree dude. Dont give them diddly for a month. Water. If see mag or calcium light a bit of calmag. NOT a cure all but a necessary nutrient set. If going to use liquid nutes start feeding then. If a top dress feed a week earlier. Just my thoughts. Weed. Keep environment tight as can and letem go.
@Ol-Smokie Used the same combo you are, on my first indoor grow, you won’t need the seedling nutes, at about 3-4 weeks of growing start checking your PPM’s out with PHed water only 6.5 is ideal until ppm’s where 800-700, I started feeding as per instructions for week age at 1\4 strength, and if needed bring PPM up slowly until you can keep it as close to 1000 ppm as possible, I fed then watered every other session had no issues, the nutes work well just keep in the range 1000 ppm’s and 6.5 ph and they will be on cruise. YMMV with other peramiters in the tent, temps, humidity, light etc
