I think I timed starting my next batch wrong, but they were $10/feminized seed so I’m keeping them alive.
My flowering plants are still 4-5 weeks from harvest I’m guessing but I just germinated new ones. I have a cheap 600 watt LED for the seedling stage, but my only real light is a 1000 watt HPS in a 11’x11’x8’ room.
Can the new ones handle being in a 12/12 light cycle and maybe just being put to the sides of the 4’x4’ trellis until harvest time? I guess I could buy another small HPS light, but don’t really want to?
Maybe put the new 4 small pots on the night stand and move the humidifier out of the way when they get 3 weeks old?
Are they auto? If photo femmed i would put them under 18/6 vegging. They can have less light. Light timing though…at 12/12 the photo will flower. I personally would keepem under veg light a few weeks or month plus no prob. Harvest…move and flip. Just me. I ride the edge. I have 8 photo coming up with 6 auto 5 weeks out at least. Will just make it before the photo explode.
Two are photo and two are auto, which was another accident. I hope the low power LED doesn’t stretch them out too much. Maybe they’ll just grow slowly.
@spacey The answer is no. They will flower and be stunted. They need to be run in a separate area with, a veg light cycle. You need a second smaller light and veg area. Since you have a while to go you could try a modified schedule with an interrupted night schedule, such as gas lantern if energy usage is a major concern.
Thanks. The seedlings are getting about 12-14 hrs of LED light at night in a little closet, and sunlight comes into the room so they shouldn’t flower where they are now. Guess they’ll just have to wait until after harvest.
Are you moving them back and forth around between areas? This could cause them unnecessary hormonal stress and potential herm if genetically prone. This can be more common in feminized plants. That would be my concern.
