Hey all, was wondering if I could get a little advice?
Have a few, month old, super lemon haze autos growing indoors and they are starting to develop spots on the fan leaves. I attached some pictures. They have been AWSOME so far. This is my second grow. Keeping VPD around 1.00. Temp at 73-77. Humidity goes up to 80+ at night with light off and temp drops to 65±. In upstate NY and it’s cold and dry outside so humidity balance is a challenge. Are the spots a light burn or do I have a fungus starting? Tent was clean and last thing in it was back in September.
Another follow up- they were planted in FF happy frog and are only a month old. I did give them 1/4 strength FF big bloom a week ago and did a full watering with 6.5 ph water a couple days ago. Pictures I saw on line are similar to a calcium deficiency but I can’t imagine the nutes in the happy frog are depleted at this point? I have cal mag on hand but like to go slow and easy so not adding till I hear from the pros.
Fox Farms needs Cal Mag the whole way so I’d start adding that now. The soil should have enough for the first 3-4 weeks but the plants probably need a little something.
Yank one of the affected leaves off turn upside down and use a magnifying device and check for bugs and eggs
Great advice …id start here as well
Maybe there is a good reason for it, but I am wondering why the high humidity and low vpa. I run my tents @ around 50%rH and 1.4 vpa
Not sure on the spots man sorry.
Something i do in winter to help with temps at night is give them dark in the warmest part of the day.
I make sure my light is on all night then darkness in the daytime.
Hell, being autos, you can run the light 24hours if ya wanted to.
But it helps my temps alot, infact it helps keep my room warmer even as i sleep
All right, thanks everyone. I checked for bugs and they are clean as far as I can tell.
Going to supplement with a little cal-mag for starters and cut a couple of the spotty fan leaves off. Also going to tune back on the humidifier, maybe set it at 60% target. Going through a gal. Of distilled H2O in 24 hrs at this point.
Looks like aphids eating pin holes from the underside of leaves. Check underside with zoom on camera or jewelers loop.
I was having my humidity go up too far too when lights out even though I had humidifiers on timers to shut off just before lights out.
I just hooked up a dehumidifier last night on timer to start at lights out and run till lights back on. Worked like a charm. In Ohio and growing in basement so similar challenges as well.
A stated earlier those sure look like bugs eating leaves
checked for bugs and couldn’t find a thing. added some cal mag and didn’t see any spread and the fan leaves that had it, i trimmed off a couple every few days. all good now.
maybe a little too much heat or calcium deficiency but i noted it all down. thanks all
8 weeks in with super lemon haze autos. Gave them their last dose of tiger bloom half strength. Trichomes just a little milky but leaves are starting to turn purple? I assume the plants are starting to feed off themselves?
Planning on straight ph’d water from here on out.
Any advice at this stage would be appreciated, this is my second grow and the first totally indoors
It’s probably just the senescence of the plant.
