Spider mites...my battle plan

I’ve also come to find the more eggs you can clean off helps to shorten the overall treatment time a lot too…I do 1 day eggs and as many adults as I can (I try to wipe off any eggs I see after treatment) then next day I hunt the adults and check for any new eggs, then repeat over and over…I think I have finally won my battle…haven’t seen any eggs or spiders of any kind in about a week now…fingers crossed…lol
I used tap water + 50% alcohol + dawn dish soap…(3 1/2 cups:1/2 cup:1/2 tsp…into 1L spray bottle)…this should only be used in veg stage…prob will destroy buds/flowers.
I also used a small fountain pump (800 L/H) to spray down the plants after each treatment/spraying…like the garden hose covered with your thumb to spray a mild-firm stream… and then stuck the plant under a slow running/dripping tap for about 20-30 minutes to flush anything harmful out of the soil.
I also read a post awhile back where someone used a ring around the plant stem base (sponge I think) that was soaked in neem oil or something, but it basically helped block the mites from getting back to the plant.
Oh and my battle has lasted almost a year, but this last bout was a little over a month.
Keep going it sounds like your winning even if it doesn’t seem so…you are and they know it :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the info.
Hope you are done with them
I will keep on keeping on working to eradicate them little fks

One thing that did happen with my 1qt pressure sprayer was after using 90% isopropyl alcohol and water mix the dam thing now leaks when under pressure so moving forward will be using old type manual pump spray bottles when using that mix.

Just did another round of Ning-Icide on pots and top soil. Not seeing them on plant leaves as the tie downs are removed and the stalks are mounded with DE to keep them away…not sure how long they can live with no food.

Gonna spray tomorrow with some spinosad

And I though my 30 days long fight was long…you got me beat by a long way hope it’s done for you @T0Y

Yes thank you I hope so as well…lol 1st battle 2 years ago…thought I won then…then after I set things up again in another room I noticed them again…now in 3rd room (well 1st room again) and the buggers were back…so it was win or give up growing and we all know thats NOT an option…lol.
The alcohol prob ate the seals/o-rings…you can prob buy new ones really cheap at hardware store and maybe even upgrade to a stronger material…then the current cheapo rubber.
I had a sprayer not release after pressing…chemicals I was spraying ended up eating the spring in the trigger…think it was just bleach…but it killed the poor dollar store spray bottle…lol

Curious if anyone has used this product

The warning labels and protective gear they say to use are kinda a bummer…but

I get phishing warning from all links to “h t t p : / / gh.” *anything…just a fyi.
Not sure why, but I sent an email awhile back and seems today I still get a popup warning me about phishing…so I guess they know they just don’t care…lol
avg%20msg

It could also just be AVG trying to get you to upgrade.

I doubt that…do you think AVG just randomly picks a site to say its bad…the legalities oh my.
Yes, they want ppl to upgrade etc, but to publicly slander a site…can’t see it happening.
And no reply or anything from GH themselves about this…just ignorance…makes me wonder.

That’s a good point. I think maybe that url is the issue, it looks fake. Try the actual generalhydroponics.com website.

The site is fine…its all the off site links that goto the h***//gh. anything that gets flagged with a popup.

If you trust the site just put in an exception in AVG for that site and it shouldn’t bother you when going there again

…and lose your identity lol

Oh ya I know all that…cert tech for 25+ years…lol
I just letting ppl know about what I had happen…maybe someone found a answer and helps inform the ppl that don’t know.
I’m not allowing them in my system if they can’t say why or what they want…using backdoor code instead…hrmmm nope not me…blocked
Oh ya and sorry for hijacking your thread…lol

I remember using one of those back in High School maybe…when I saw the pics it was familiar to me…let me know once you get and use yours if you would buy it again and let me know where you got it cause I may want to juice some leaves on it too!
