Hi everyone and thank you in advance for any information, it would be greatly appreciated!!! First time poster and first indoor grow. Ive got 3 outdoor grows under my belt but im really looking forward to having more control over my plants environment. Ive read dozens of topics on here and have found alot of great information. I have a couple questions and im gunna post some pics of my complete setup. Thanks again!!
Kit info:
•Spider Farmer se3000 dimmable 300w full spectrum.
•Spider Farmer 4" inline fan with smart controller
•Spider Farmer 2.3’x2.3’x5.2’ tent
I cant seam to keep my temperature as cool as id like without my humidity dropping. I added 2 clip on fans to try to stir the air a little.
Really looking for tips on height to hang my lights and put the fans to help control the temp without looseing all my humidity.
Im doing 1 ILGM Blue Dream photo. I was scared 2 or 3 would be to much for this size tent and i plan on using scog. Info on where to hang the net and when to do that.
Last questions for the moment, should i top this plant if im going to scrog? And how long should expect to veg this strain in a 3x3?
Don’t worry about 81F. No need to worry until you get in the upper 80s.
Indeed it would be. You can get 1 good plant in a tent that is a little over 2’x2’. More than that might be unmanageable when tending to your plant.
Your light is great for 1 plant. Two plants would be under-lighted. Best to have 1 very productive plant rather than 2 poorly producing plants.
Get the Photone app and run your PPFD at:
300 PPFD for seedlings
600 PPFD for veg
800 PPFD for flowering
Adjust your light as necessary to achieve these PPFD levels.
You don’t have a lot of vertical room and will need to flip fairly quickly, keeping in mind that a plant can double in size during the first few weeks of flowering.
Draw air in from the bottom of the tent and exhaust it out from the top of the tent. It will help you manage temps.
Yes, it is one way of looking at it. The important thing is to manage PPFD to the levels I suggested above at the height of the canopy of the plant. The appropriate PPFD levels can be achieved by adjusting light height and/or a dimmer switch if there happens to be a dimmer on your model of lighting.
It will help manage height, yes.
How long you veg the plant (in terms of days or weeks) is somewhat irrelevant given your height limitation. You’ll have to manage the plant based on height and not time duration. The rate at which plants grow can vary based on the environment you give them and can also vary based on genetics. You have a good light for 1 plant and it will certainly help keep the plant more compact. I would flip the plant before the 50% level. Some plants will more than double in size. You will also have to take into consideration the amount of height in the tent that lighting and ventilation takes up.
That app is like majic haha. Super easy to use and i could watch the numer change as i turned the dimmer switch. Thanks for the recommendation! I was over 450 and i adjusted closer to the 300 you recommended.
Once you get into veg and flower you can run the numbers a little higher. It will help keep the plant more compact. I run 1,100 PPFD on my plants during veg and flower. The numbers I mentioned above are minimums.
Got it, is the 300 a minimum for seedlings or is that what i should stay with till veg? Today is only day 5 but so far ive been letting the lights run 24 hours. I saw on here where that was good for seedling for the first few weeks then swap to 18/6, is that true? Also i set up a plastic bag over the seedling for a humidity dome. Been holding 99% and 84° for the last few hours.
You can top her above the 4th real node. The cotyledon (little round) leaves and the first set of serrated leaves should not be counted as nodes.
LST is typically overdone. Overdoing it can harm yields rather than help them. I trim only as necessary to ensure good airflow withing the plant’s canopy.
You can do so by placing the @ symbol in front of a member’s name, like this: @TheAbu95.
@MidwestGuy is red or green the first node i should count from when deciding to top? Also please let me know if I am being a nuisance haha. I have 1000 questions and im sure im not the only one.
@MidwestGuy Roughly how long do you think i should wait to transplant? I keep reading that when the leaves reach the edges of your container to transplant but it doesn’t seam like its been long enough since i put it in the container. She will be 2 weeks old tomorrow.
Plant looks great but your over watering her a little an you can transplant her if wanted to … an @TheAbu95 you got a great mentor there @MidwestGuy … Dude knows his shit an some… well have a great grow … Plant looks great an oh btw even tho your in small tent u can get 2 plants in there easily if you flip them 2-3 weeks after sprout an use 2-3 gal fabric pots I use 2 gal n I get plants over 4ft tall easily n I’m only running 200 watts but I jus added a 100 more to side an give buds lower a better light well sorry for rambling but have a wonderful grow
