Total newbie here on a first grow so please excuse my ignorance. I am growing White Widow autos outdoor and am pleased with how far I have gotten to date but am very confused about the 1 plant. As you can see in the pics I have some good flowering going except on one that appears to be male? Is this common with autos or am I completely misunderstanding what is going on here. Could really use some insight from a more experienced grower. Thanks!
Kinda hard to see from pics, but looks like female bracts to me. Here’s some great pics of males. Might be able to better compare for yourself.
It looks male but I’ll let the pros speak to this to verify
This is more likely a female that has experienced some type of stress which has caused it to Hermie. Autos are more susceptible to this. It could have happen during transplanting from one container to the next.
Welcome to the community.
It may just be the ruteralis genes showing through of the auto.
Need a closer pic.
Last couple pics look like reveg to me.
Check out the smooth edged leaves near the tops. Def female.
Could have been a photo period mixed in with the seeds. Or may not have had as strong auto genes in it as the others that appear to be flowering normally.
Plant looks female from the pics but agree a strong ruderalis gene
This is what I see as well. Sorry fellas, it’s the exact opposite of strong Ruderalis… it’s the lack of a developed ‘Auto Gene’… she’s expressing photoperiod traits. The light hours were a tad too long and she is going back in the vegetative stage.
Very interesting indeed! So at this point do I just let her do her thing and she’ll catch up or do I need to make an adjustment? She has been getting Bloom nutrients for a few weeks now.
And thank you so much for lending a hand!
Nothing you really can do at this point. Let her do her thing. The good news is day hours have already begun to shrink. She should retrieved flower by the end of July.
She may get a tad unruly. As she grows, but more weed is a good kind of problem
