This is a 4’ tall White Widow Autoflower growing outside. I have a lower branch from it growing indoors because a strong wind split it from the main stem. That branch and another plant from the same seed set growing indoors have pretty normal looking flowers developing nicely. This picture of the outdoors plant has me wondering about where it heading. Should I expect the different looking buds to mature into nice flowers?
Can you get a pic from closer to the buds? My eyesight is terrible, but when I zoom in it looks like I see pollen sacs. Sorry if that’s the case.
1st… welcome to the community. How about some closer shots.
4ft auto should be flowering already.
OK, different phenotype. That sounds interesting. Still a female heading to flower? Same batch of seeds have produced some very nice bud indoors. Crazy hot, then cool and wet weather out here in the mid-Atlantic states this Spring.
It’s not what I thought in the first pics. My vision is terrible.
So then, not pollen sacs? Lots of trichomes present. Is that possible on male plants?
Its female, just a genetic retard, it will be like that all the way through.

. Welcome to the forum my friend hope you enjoy your stay!
It’s the ruderalis trait coming in really really hard. Unfortunately, you probably won’t really get any solid buds from the plant. It happens. I’ve had one or two like that.
Got any pics of these? The branch should be flowering. The other seed is that, another seed. Unless you’re cloning it’ll be different, and that’s tough with autos.
That was my thought as well.
This is the sister plant. Very normal and ripening on schedule. On either side, there’s a branch from the odd plant in water. Nice bud development. I’m thinking the controlled indoor environment is greatly appreciated. Out in the garden was an experiment. Both outdoor plants are way behind in bud development, both are taller and in the end I’ll know if the efficacy of the bud is noticeably different. Sure would be cool to have some spectrophotometric data to review. I really appreciate the combined experiences of those that replied and helped educate me on the ruderalis recessive genetic trait. Very cool.
A lack of light, or too much and high heat could cause the loose bud structure. I just chopped one that was in several days of 100+ heat and pretty high humidity. What would have been a +6oz auto turned into 3oz of fluff.
Genetics , I have seen that before plant probably will not bulk up a whole lot.

I have 3 White Widow Autos and they all look very different to me. To be fair, I don’t have enough experience to really judge, this is my first grow.
The way it was explained to me is, a couple has 3 children, they may all look very different or somewhat similar. Roll of the dice with genetics.
Hi all, I’m a first time grower from Australia. Good to be here.
Great to see all the grow support out there!
I was wondering if I could ask a few questions about my auto’s? I have a stealth grow near the beach in pots im going out there on the weekend so I thought it would be best to take some pics and post them and have you all tell me what needs to be done next time I plant.
I’ll give some background -
- Planted very late summer, March 26th germinated outside in there final pots
Sorry for the bad photos lots of dense bush around (Blueberry autos) - Vegetative stage only lasted about 2 weeks or so then started to show signs of flowering there is also a Amnesia haze in there
3 of them look like little lolly pops they are about 5 inches tall, the other blue berry and the amnesia are 2’ tall I think there is that genetic thing going on with 2 of the lolly pops as previously posted any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated
Certainly no expert here. Based on my very limited experience, I can say that 2’ tall is a good height for my indoor, LED, plants. Bud development and a bit more vegetative grow happen and then only buds develop filling in along the stems. A marvelous transformation into dense buds that possibly takes 4-6 weeks. During this time, even though the plants are not getting taller, the bud development requires about twice the watering.
You’ve got me wondering if your smaller plants are thirsty. Maybe the lack of water, harsh conditions, causes them to go to flower early. Survival mode?
In the first few weeks they got plenty of rain, not enough to make them soggy all pots are pretty close together, I get out there once a week and hand water they get about 250ml water each should I double that now? our winter is usually dry and sunny And should I use flowering nutes only ? Thanks for the help
