OK thank u… Yea I started digging around m wanted to play scientist but I kno I should jus stock to what works ya know?? Well I was thiml of doing the happy frog an dakine420 see how it goes I got a huge hag of it or should I keep the dakine by itself
I’m not a fan of mixing mediums such as coco and peat (the Dakine420 and Coco Loco). I’d just do straight coco or coco+perlite. I’m not a soil mixer either, grew for over a decade in Happy Frog with added perlite with no complaints.
If I had to choose between your mediums listed, I’d start seeds in Happy Frog and stay in Happy Frog for the whole grow.
Though you could start seeds in Happy Frog and then transplant into Ocean Forest after a couple weeks, then you only need water and calmag til you hit flowering.
I can’t help much, as I have similar feelings to Hellraiser. If I’m not using coco would probably be using roots original. Definitely not a concoction of soils.
@Buck29048 I’m your huckleberry, I just used plain ph rain water and seaweed extract , going into week 8 for the flip smooth sailing on this ship Captain ah ai Sen’ior 40° Starburt , all ahead 80% and whole steady as standing by ai ah Sir , I concur!
@Buck29048
I would create a few different soil mixes to see which would fit best. Follow mixing instruction and just like using liquid 1/4 per gallon of soil , Coco, perlite mix ? It’s all mainly Fox Farm brand so be cautious can be mixed hot ? Once you mix it , always pour enough water through the soil to keep from creating dry hot spots with Coco. So what I do is in layers, I put my strongest mix of soil on the very bottom of the pot about 2 or 3 inches and back fill with the less soil so as the plant grows and roots , the roots will start in the light soil on top and grow down into the hot stronger soil mix which will feed the plant also so you "WILL NOT " need liquid grows nutrients if it’s mix in sequence according to instruction measurements. Now make sure to red labels instead of just asking for help , VERY important to read labels and once you get them potted , make sure your medium is wet and you know the ph and ppm in the soil mix you just combined together , Very Important ! Get you start ph right and it should be smooth from there all the way through to bloom phase and if you notice a lightness of green is normal but it’s usually an indication for less or more nitrogen, your pistils need a good bit of the potassium number first which is the last number but no more than 10% in the first 4 weeks and about 22% of phosphorus you work that and oh yes you on your way to a harvest Laborday !
@yoshi@Hellraiser@dbrn32@Randy_Marsh thank u for advice mucho appreciated . yea I found oceans n happy to b great grow when mixed. I did oceans n happy on bottom then happy frog an top few inches light warrior to get seedling going n by time hits the oceans n frog mixed shell b big enough o not get burned… But I am going do the dakine420 straight next grow an ima filled others with oceans n happy mixed an some light warrior or coco loco on too for seedlinf
@Buck29048 if you don’t over kill you will do great. I used the 5-8-4 fox farm fertilizer for fruits and vegetables with Light Warrior and it’s a great mix . I just have not much that beats Promix Sunshine #4 with Michorhizi start at 5.7 , go up with ph by .1 each month to 6.2 and that’s it . Simple cause it’s all I prefer but I can pretty much used any of them.
@Buck29048
In my opinion from what was on the market the last 15 plus years going back , it was my preference cause I had develop a very simple feeding regime and had some very amazing returns with less work. I’m sure it’s other market brands that can do better if nor out perform promix . But as far as water retention , soil quality , ph , organic matter, promix is one I always keep for the nursery or any #4 grade soil mix which has peat moss & spaghnum moss that has natural trace minerals of silica which helps your stalk and chlorophyll which holds big big Ole colas of buds , Crah Crah Crah crazy !
My intentions are to switch to coco soon. So far I’ve run germ in Happy Frog with tablet into Ocean Forest. I’ve had no complaints other than soil doesn’t grow as rapidly.
@Underthestairs used that same mix you said but add 30 mls of 5-4-2 Bio-Live to your soil and watch the difference in growth , but used seaweed extract every other watering , and you will thank me later also , even 5-8-4 will work but it can be a bit hot for most hybrids that’s not acid loving strains, but any of those that thrice hard in veg , you’ll have a very different experience in growth and simple Ness cause you won’t need grow at all .
@yoshi do you add that before planting and mix it thoroughly into the soil? I’ve been using the fish sh!t and seen to have healthier stringer roots. I’d love to continue that tends!
Yea so seaweed xtract n bio- live will keep in mind … N yea I can’t wait till these ladies r done n I can’t start my next . I have a gold leaf n super lemon haze germinate now
I’m going stick with starting in happy warrior, to move into oceans an dakine but not going to mix going go straight up like ya suggested… But I read that mixing dakine420 with happy frog makes it supper soil… I’m trying to make a soil that needs only water
@Buck29048 that’s it if dakine420 and happy frog is the combo , give it a try and just add a tablespoon of mykos and azos and maybe 2 tablespoons of 5-4-2 per gallon and all you will need is plain ph water and seaweed extract or kelp that’s it and you should have no burn tips going into bloom .
