Small space migro Grow

Hey everyone

I’m having to downsize due to lack of space and I’ve purchased a 40x40x100 (16x16x30 inches) grow tent with a MaxiSun MF1000 led (96 watts)

After light fixture, pot etc I’ll probably only be able to grow a plant max 2 feet tall.

I’d rather not do LST however, will bend the top cola if necessary.

Could anyone suggest what pot size and some specific seed strains that will allow me to grow a descent plant no more than 2 feet tall? or am I simply waisting my time even bothering?

I like Indicas for nigh time use and I’d be supper happy with 30-35 grams of good quality bud.

I’d appreciate any tips you guys might have.

I wouldn’t say your wasting your time at all but i think you’d for sure be better off with autos as they tend to stay smaller than the photoperiods. Autos just flip when they feel like it. I haven’t ever grown any but i know @Nicky used to do autos all the time and from what I’ve read they are faster than photoperiods too. I like to use the leafly app and it gives you a break down of the flavors, effects, terpennes, and lineage and there you can get a good idea on the best strains for any medical condition. @Borderryan22 @Capt.Cola @Aussie_autos any thoughts?

Yea real small* looks into my closet at 5 foot autos*, but you can limit growth by only growing in 2 or 3 gallon fabric pots and with photos timing your flip about halfway as tall as you want you plants to be. If actually say its more reliable to get a short photo then a short auto since they’ll go into flower when they feel like it

I really appreciate that excellent tip BC, it never occurred to me to look for autos with specific terpene profiles, I’ll get to work doing my research.

At first i thought this was inches and I was like, what’s the concern??? Having said that, a lot of autos I’ve grown have topped out around 2 feet. Some have gone to 3 or 4. I’m growing 2 Forbidden Fruitz Autos from TasteBudz that are 3 weeks in flower. One stopped going vertical at 16" and I’ll get about an oz, the other around 20" for another fat oz.

thank you but for this run I’ll stick with autos but it never occurred to me to use photos - obviously I can decide how tall they get and the variety of seeds is probably better. The big bonus too is electric prices will be reduced - in Europe electricity has tripled in prices due to the Ukraine conflict and set to rise another 35% soon so I’m trying to squeeze as much bang for my buck as possible.

Cheers B, that sounds like a really interesting strain, i’m going to look it up now.

Thanks for the tag! Im a huge fan of autos as that is all I have grown for over two years. Each plant will be different but with some training you can make it work for sure. I would spread it out to the sides of the tent and see what happens.

:point_up_2: I second that choice. Nice sedative buzz

You said you did not want to LST why not it controls plant height and increases yield

@GreenSnek maybe i just typically see small autos? Ive never grown an auto but its on my to do list and yeah i guess you could do the same with photoperiods as you can flip them when you want. Not sure how soon you really could flip a plant after its sprouts as ive never been in a rush with photoperiods but im sure someone here has that answer. The quickest ive flipped was 5-6 weeks after cloning to allow for intial transplant to a solo cup and final transplant to 1 gal fabric pots

Im curious if you had any issues with your zkittles or anyone else that ordered them? I’ve been seeing a few posts on here lately saying that quite a few people had issues with hermies with that specific strain but that is the one of the biggest operator errors lol

true, but it can also stress the plant. I’ve read arguments for and against, and I prefer to leave a plant do what it knows best.

My seeds are from 2 years ago and they grew beautifully for a first timer
