Gorgeous, Skippy
Sunday, May 8. Day 41 of flower. Mixed 4 gallons of Jacks at 3/2/1 rate and split into 3 feedings and getting about 25% runoff. This being 6 weeks of flower and looking at the plants I dialed the HLG 135 rspec in the center of the tent down just a little for a total of 597 watts, down from 640. The buds on the tall girl aren’t bulking up the way the shorter one is. I am noticing the pistils starting to orange a little on the tall one and darkening a bit on the shorter one. It’s probably time to pull them out and defoliate again. Trying to decide whether to hydrate another half brick of coco for the White Tahoe Cookies run or wait just a bit longer. This view is after the second feeding of the night.
Wednesday, May11. Day 44 of flower. I managed to defoliate the tall girl in the front 2 nights ago and managed to move it to the back of the tent last night. I have done minimal defol on the shorter girl, now in the front. Will try to get to that tomorrow night. To me the difference in the 2 phenotypes is even more exaggerated. Heavy trichrome production on the short girl with foxtailing on the tops and the purple coloring in the tall girl is more visible at the back.
I mixed 4 gallons of Jacks at 3/2/1 and feeding equal amounts in 3 feedings daily, I am getting large amount of runoff. The ILGM listing on these G13 seeds says 11 weeks of flower, but they look closer than that to me.
Pretty dense forest you have there skippy!
I am very happy!
Sunday, May15. Day 48 of flower. Pictures don’t seem to be loading. I am back to mixing 3 gallons of Jacks 3.6/2.4/1.2 and giving it in 2 feedings daily. I took a couple of small flowers off.
They look clear with round heads formed/ing so still some time to go.
OK pictures are loading now so here are the 2 flowers I removed.
That’s one of the best trich pics I’ve seen, nice job. What camera do you use? I love my phone but the camera sucks and that’s all I have
Edit… I do have a usb microscope but still don’t get pics that crisp
The trichome pics are from a cheap usb microscope off of amazon. I actually removed the flowers or I can never get it to focus. The others are from my cell phone which is also the cheapest thing available several years ago.
There are a bunch of not clear pics I didn’t bother posting!
Sunday, May 22. Day 55 of flower.
I turned the lights down to 575 a couple days ago and also just tonight mixed the Jacks at 3/2/1. The tall girl in the back seems maybe nutrient burned with the leaves becoming sort of brittle and the buds not bulking up. The shorty up front looks much better with buds building bigger despite the tips of the leaves clawing down some.
I removed those buds today, one from each, and the next are USB microscope shots of trichomes.

At 8 weeks since light flip I doubt I can do much in the way of fixing anything. I am moving forward using the slightly less strong Jacks recipe and will turn off the HLG 135 rspec in the center of the tent, should leave lighting at 510 watts from the 2 HLG 260xl rspecs. ILGM description says 11 weeks flower.
Beautiful my friend! Gonna be a sweet harvest!
Monday, May 30. Day 63 of flower. I have been feeding at the 3/2/1 rate with Jacks this week, thinking I was burning my girls with nutrients.
The shorter plant up front is still clawing a bit but looks better to me, despite seeing a few nanners popping through the buds. At 9 weeks of flower I’m not concerned with those. A small flower cut from the short girl.
Same one under the usb microscope.

This flower from the tall girl with the burnt looking leaves.
And the USB shot of the same one.

Now regarding trichomes I am seeing some clear and some turning cloudy on both samples, probably will need the full 11 weeks of flower. As to the burnt looking leaves, I am thinking magnesium deficiency maybe. That yellowing leaf crisping is only happening at the top 6 inches or so of the tall girls branches, the others lower are dark green. Growing a tent full of clones must be easier than trying to tune nutrients for 2 different seeming phenotypes. I raised the epsom salts part of the mix back up to 1.2 grams starting tonight, but I think it is so close to the end it won’t matter much. Does anyone know if I had raised the epsom salt part of the mix to 1.5 or 2 grams when first noticing this could I have prevented this or would that be too much? Mostly thinking of future grows and nutrient adjustments.
Monday, June 6. Day 70 of flower. Still feeding Jacks at 3.6/2.4/1.2 and no silica for the last week. 1 and 1/2 gallons per day per plant.
I took a sample off the top of a medium height branch from each plant. This is from the short one.
Removed sugar leaves.
And under the usb microscope.

Here is the flower from the tall girl. The yellow/browning leaves are all at the tops of the plant.
Minus the sugar leaves.
And under the usb microscope.

While I thought of removing the tops of the tall girl, at 10 weeks of flower I am probably just going to ride things out. I am seeing some clear, more cloudy, and no amber in the trichomes so far. Hopefully chopping down next week.
Thats some beautiful bud Skippy. Great work.
Happy Cannaversary
Holy cow! It’s been a year already!
Damn nice looking $hit right there.
Monday, June 13. Day 77 of flower. This is looking through the window.
After trimming sugar leaves.
And then under the microscope.

As for the shorter girl in the front, I removed the flower directly beneath the one I took last week.
Then after removing sugar leaves.
And under the microscope as well.

Still seeing some clear, lots of cloudy, and only a couple amber heads on the trichomes. Guess 11 weeks isn’t enough, so we’ll take our time and see if another week does it.
Love those purple trichomes and I agree with your assessment.
Thanks for looking out! It is cool seeing actual purple colored weed growing in my bedroom!
