Oh yeah. I do have my forever bags ready for these new ones. Do you think it’d be alright to transplant when they are looking so yellow? Or should I see a in a couple of days? I just looked and their roots are definitely ready for more room. They aren’t coming out, but they are wound up in there . I think I should go ahead, yeah?
My tie downs lol! They can be any size I want though. I guess I just added 2 photos to a post and idk where they went.
Don’t worry about my time I enjoy teaching and learning about cannabis. I usually have a forum page open on my pc while I do other things. If I don’t have time I just won’t be on for a few days. Glad your buddy is feeling better. Maybe he just had the munchies.
If the roots are all tangled then it’s time to transplant maybe a little past time. They will be happy in their final pot, you just might not have to water as often for a little while. Being root bound could cause issues that would yellow the leaves also. I bet they will look better 12-24 hours after transplant.
Fingers crossed on that last. Unfortunately it’s gonna have to wait til tomorrow. Or, since I slept til 3 today I can do it at 3am tonight if I’m still up. I didn’t buffer enough coco. Dangit! Such is life in my stratosphere. But that’ll give me time to get the big tent cleaned out. I moved my 5 flowering ones to the small tent earlier. Left the clones in the big tent cause the other is too small for them. They will either reveg or die. I’d put them outside except for 2 nosey neighbors. So now I will clean all my coco prep stuff and sanitize my jugs, pipe the window ac into the small tent and clean the big tent. By that time it will indeed be about 3am, so they will get done then.
I was lucky to have some rain 2 days ago and was able to fill over half my jugs. All but 1 that had already been sanitized. My barrel was completely full and sucking air by the time I was done. Hopefully that will hold me til next rain. If not ima have to change back to tap water. Was, oh! That was nice! Had a spider on my milk glass when I went to take a drink. That does it for me.
You been putting in that work!!!
Dude! You’ve no idea. If I could get stuff right the 1st time I wouldn’t have to struggle to get finished. Here are photos of more that I did last night and today. I am chillan in the recliner now. For the rest of the day
Yay Me!!!
Ooops! I did a ditto.
Do you have your A/C on a separate thermostat inside the tent? That would likely be necessary for that setup to work. Some of the babies look a little greener today, or is it the change in lighting. It’s hard to tell in a pic sometimes. I forgot to mention yesterday that since you decided to transplant you should probably wait on moving the light down to 18". Its usually best not to change too much at once.
Greenlight garden apartments looking good! Your flowering plants are looking awesome too. Those are the photos correct?
No. It is just a basic window unit. There’s no register down there for my ac unit, but I rarely use it anyway. Most generally the open doors and windows keep it nice and cool in here. I sude those tents though is a different story and little to no sunlight hits my property do no outside growing.
As soon as I get caught back up ima try to get one of those little portable units on sale somewhere. God knows my electric bill is the highest it’s ever been in 17yrs last month. Smh. Shew. It’s borderline brutal. Frfr. But it will work as long as I keep up with it. It’s only 14 steps to the basement so I’ll get some exercise anyway. Lol!
They were AWFUL this morning before the xplant. All wilted looking. But greener, yes. They look much better this evening . They were pulling to the light is why I lowered it some. And in all directions. It was weird.
The ones Flowering have had a tough go of it since their start. I lost several since they sprouted. But those 5 have hung tough, nearly died, and hung even tougher. Probably won’t be much if a yield, but hopefully the quality will be similar to last time. I actually, finally havve some trichomes on one of the Agent Orange and some good scent coming from one of the Super Lemon Hazes. The AO is my favorite so that makes me happy.
Oh yeah. I almost forgot these… You were right. They were well ready to be in a bigger home. You can see how wilted. I will take some tomorrow to show the difference.

Just keep an eye on your temps. If it gets too warm in the lung room the window unit will keep pumping fifty something degree air into your tents which has to make it through your tents before it can cool the thermostat on the intake of the ac and shut it off. In my case it led to 52 degree drying tent and quite the hit to the electric bill. I ended up using the box to make a flap that pushed the cool air towards my intake fan a couple feet away. Less duct to slow the air down too. I don’t have A/C in my house though. Just my grow room and drying closet. The window unit BTU for BTU will always be more efficient than a portable stand alone A/C. The portable ones are less efficient because there is heat leaked through the hot side into the room. A window units hot side is on the outside of the window so it leaks less heat into the room. If cost of electricity is a concern the window unit will cool more with the same power.
Reaching for the light is a good sign they can handle it a little closer. Sometimes you can move them around and watch them move and turn to the light over a few minutes. Like watching paint dry but way cooler cuz its weed. the roots look really good actually. Perfect time to transplant except maybe that last one is just a tad later than perfect. The roots out the bottom indicator pertains more to seedling bags than plastic pots IMO. Most of the time in plastic pots the corners will bind up before they poke out the bottom. a little droop after transplant is pretty normal. It’s when they don’t stand back up after a day or two that you have a problem. If everything goes perfect the plant won’t even notice it will just explode.
There are two types of portable units. Single hose like this…
And dual hose like this…
The difference is where the unit gets the air it uses to cool the hot condenser coils that it then vents to the outside. The dual hose unit takes outside air in one hose and then vents it back outside leaving all the room air to circulate.
The single hose unit takes air from the same room its cooling and uses that to cool the condenser coils and then vents its out through the single hose. So its using the same air it just cooled and vents it back out of the room. That air must be replaced so what happens is air from outdoors gets pulled into the house from every little place that doors and windows are not perfectly sealed. You see the problem here. Its like running a window unit but leaving the front door open at the same time. The only real use of the single hose unit is to blow cold air directly on something and not try to cool an entire room. I had a single hose unit in a 12x12 bedroom that ran non stop all night and never cooled the room enough to shut off.
The dual hose units are more expensive at first but the savings in electric in the long term will make up for that the first run you use it.
A window unit may be a better option. Or a mini split if you have a way to mount it.
Great info @Spiney_norman , I had never seen the double hose models. I have a garage full of window units so that’s what I use.
I’ve never seen one either. Definitely will look inyo it though, seeing as I’m in the market anyway. I was always told that the window units cost more to run than a house unit, but with Zay here the door stays open and I’ve always preferred the fresh air ocer stagnant. Plus the fact of no exchange down there. I could turn the big unit on and open the basement door and it would cool down in a day, but again, the fresh air I wouldn’t get. Idk? Feels like I’m in jail with everything closed up.
A window unit may be more expensive to run if it has more output, but it produces more cooling with the same amount of power as a portable. Am I misunderstanding you or are you under the impression that the window unit brings in fresh air from outside?
Window units, some of them anyway, can bring in just a little. I think some have a way to bring 5 to 10% fresh air into the mix by opening a vent by a lever on the front.

Very cool. thank you for correcting me. I just realized the one I just installed had a button but someone broke it off. That’s 2 new things you’ve taught me today I really appreciate that.
