Okie Dokie. Hey Fellow Forum Friends. Only because I feel like this 3rd attempt at growing the ganja weed is going to be a huge success am I going to share the experience with whomever wants to come along for the grow.
I am growing 10 plants total-and hope, oh gish do I hope, that each of the 10 grow to fruition. I have 3 Agent Orange Fem Photos. 3 Lime Glow Phylos Autos. 2 each of Super Lemon Haze and Orange Bud Fem Photos. I will be treating them all pretty much the same way except I imagine the LGA will have to be done differently at some point.
My Lung Room is the only room that is my basement. It has 2 windows, a door to upstairs and one to the outside porch. My tools are also down there. I built a table into one wall to do all my feedings and stuff. I have 1 6x6x8 and 1 4x2x6 tent. A VS 4000 300 Watt full spectrum LED light in the 6x6 and a Vispar 200 Watt in the 4x2. I have an exhaust set up in the 6x6 with fan, vent hose, and charcoal filter. I leave the one side door of it open because there’s a window there that I put a window a/c unit in and blacked around the rest. The 4x2 sets right up next to the 6x6 and so it gets some of that cooler ait if I leave it open, which right now I can. I have 1 dehumidifier in the 6x6 and another just out in the room. They fill up like twice a day on dry days. Wears me out constantly having to empty them. Idky I can’t feed with that water. Since I can’t, I collect rain water instead and feed with it. I used 2 16" oscillating fans in the 6x6 and 1 in the 4x2. There are 2 more out in the room. My electric bill is outrageous. I am growing in a 60/40 CoCo/Perlite Blended Medium. Currently will have yo hand feed until I am able to build an automatic feeder. That’s a top priority. I am and will continue to use the Base A and B by ViViSun. Say what you will. I had my only decent harvest with them so I sold all my GH Nutes. I use the standard light and wet meter and a Milwaukee 3-Way Meter for testing my pH and EC. Let’s see… I think that’s everything that I’m supposed to have told you about my equipment? If I missed something just say the word and I’ll fix it right away.
A little about me… I am an almost 55yr old, don’t forget my bday is 7/30, lol, female. A Veteran of the USARMY MP Corps. I have a 40yr old Son and 2 Grands, girl 17 and boy 8. I am in the Eastern US. Smoked my 1st Doobie on my 13th Birthday. Been a head ever since, minus my time in the service. People don’t seem to get me, so if you don’t that’s cool too. I get me and that’s all that matters. Right? If you are weird enough you will get me too. I’m truly not the bitch I seem to be. Oh wait! Maybe I am. It is, after all, tattooed on my back. Yay Bitch Tattoo!
Ok. Enough bullshit. Let’s get down to business…
I started this grow on 5/19/24 @ about 11pm. I chose to to scarify my seeds before putting them into a mix of peroxide and distilled water. Within 24hrs all 10 had tails and went into the CoCo/Perlite Blend. To prepare the mix, I first rinsed it twice with rain water and 750ml Cal-mag, allowing it to soak for a day each time. I then squeezed it as dry as I could and rinsed enough to fill my 2" pots + a little more to be sure I had enough, until the run off was below 100EC and the pH is about 620. That is the mix I put my seedlings into on 5/21 @2am. By 5/22 @9:30pm they had all but the OB1 come out above ground. The OB1 followed early the morning of the 23rd. Whenever I first put them into my Medium, I had them under a 12x12 14 Watt red and blue spectrum LED Light that I failed to mention earlier. Today, 5/24, I removed them from their space under the 14 Watt and have them on the outside of the 4x2 tent collecting between 200-300LUX for 18hrs a day. I still have 14 plants going from my crap last grow is why they aren’t in their own tent. That will change tomorrow.
And that’s where we are at this moment. Some photos will follow.
I promise to do my best to update this journal at least twice a week. However, having had an 8yr old boy thrust into my home takes some getting used to and sometimes I just might not have the time that I’d like to have. This is a learning experience for us both. I am just glad to be the adult and not the kid. So thanks for your understanding.
Oh yeah. I forgot to say that since CoCo has to be watered so often, since they’ve gone into the Medium I have watered 2 or 3x with just cal-mag water, at the normal dosage of 1 tsp per gallon and only gave it to the edges of their little pots. This evening, since all their Cotyledons had opened I fed them for their 1st time a mix of Nutes at a pH of 6.3 and an EC 380. We’ll see how they look in the morning. When I came upstairs after feeding them, they were all quite tall. Not sure if they are stretching or what, but time will tell, I suppose.
That ph may be a bit high. Not much, but coco is closer to hyrdo than it is to soil.
Maybe the guru’s will correct me, but I believe in coco we should start at 5.8 and gradually increase to 6.1 - 6.2 in the last few weeks of flowering.
I did that cause that’s what it said at coco for cannabis. It actually said the 1st 2 times to do 6.1 to 6.3 then go to go to 5.9 for the rest of the grow. But sometimes I have veen known to read shit wrong, so that’s not out of the question either. I am trying to do exactly as they say cause that dude is laying it out step by step. I gotta get a water delivery system though real quick cause his instructions are for that.
Well this is Day #8. Been giving them a nute blend at 6.3pH and 0.4 EC, I think is how it is, for 2 or 3 days now. I think I’m supposed to have started increasing the EC and lowering the pH already, but I think I should wait til once they are potted up in a few days. What do you guys think? I say a few days, but am not sure. These 1st pots are very small, too small I think. A single root from the AO and the LW 3’s, and the SLH and the OB 2’s have come out the bottom. None of the others have. My guide says that doesn’t matter unless there are 3 nodes, because 3 nodes is the key to potting up the 1st time, and 6 nodes for potting up to their permanent home. So I suppose I’ll have to see how it goes. At this point, while they all do have their 1st set of true leaves, that’s all they have. 1 set of Cotyledons and 1 set of serrated. If the roots start getting unruly before they have 3 sets, then I guess I should go ahead and pot them up? Any thoughts from the peanut gallery? I moved my light to 25% and about 6-8 inches above yesterday because they were stretching an awful lot. I had had it on 5% and 4 inches. They seem less stretchy today but I fear burning them so have been checking quite often. I guess that’s all for today. Ta-ta!
So… It doesn’t appear that I will have many followers on my first little Journal which is great by me. I was affearing having too many and me effing something up and being all embarrassed and shiz. Lol! One or five is fine with me as long as they are like my bud @1LuckyMF up there. However, there are a few I’d like to see here, for their knowledge and tidbits of timeless wisdom. For example… @1HappyPappy@peachfuzz@Spiney_norman@Indacut@Jaysittinback@Bonjoyle@MidwestGuy@ChittyChittyBangin@DEEPDIVERDAVE
and more in the next entry down there⬇️, (so skip to that content and then hurry back up here⬆️) and I can’t remember any more names of those who have assisted me with their vast knowledge on different topics and such.
Ok, maybe not 1or5 but 1-17. Lol! Gosh how have so many people that I don’t even know had such an impact on me that I recall their names when most of the time I can’t recall my own? Funny how that works, isn’t it?
Anywho… Yesterday I thought 2 of mine were showing signs of Calcium deficiency but today they are better. I am just waiting a few to get that 3rd set of tiny leaves so I can repot all of them together, or rather at the same time. Many roots coming from the bottoms of the 2" pots.
I shall post some photos this evening after the parental visit for my Grandson.
Rules that appear to be set in concrete when it comes to cannabis are not always accurate. Nodes in my opinion are not the driving factor for transplanting. And when… is growers choice and relative to the container they are in. I transplant 4 times and never count my nodes. Here are my 4 pots from germ to harvest.
Idk that I will be updating a whole lot. Just when I get a milestone done or take some photos. That kind of thing that’s worthy of a journal. And for questions should there be a problem. Lol! Usually are some but this is going to be a greeeat grow. 3 is, after all, my luckiest number.
@Bonjoyle Well, I will, thanks. And yes indeedy I did. That same day and haven’t seen it since. Yay Blocking!
My Guide is going to be the coco for cannabis site. Dude writes up a step-by-step process for absolutely everything and I find that super helpful. I prefer to sit and read as opposed to sitting and watching YouTube videos. He does have videos attached to each topic and lots of photos that are very helpful. I have condense his word and written everything on cards and stuck them to my board. I think I may be way too organized in everything, but it works for me and will save time not having to constantly be Googling every single thing only to get opposing answers that confuse the issue. This way, I have 1 guy basically walking me through this grow step by step. Hopefully this will work out.
That’s why I am waiting for the 3 sets. Dude is some kind of scientist and puts that into play with his plants and with his writings. Like at the start of each topic he gives the science and explains how it comes into play as why he’s saying to do this or that. Then he goes through steps to achieve a good end result. Idk? That’s the best I can explain it, and since what he’s put out is exactly what I was looking for, I’m going to follow his path and see what happens. He’s just so easy the understand. You know? I know you are established, but you should read a section so you’ll see what I mean.
Ah yeah, also idk if what I have are actual nodes or not, but there are 3 pairs of leaves right on top of each other, (that includes the Cotyledons) but the roots on all are abundant and 7 or 10 are now through the bottom so I figure it’s time.
See, I guess not TOTALLY following him. I gotta do my own thing sometimes. Lol! Always a rebel.
Same problem experienced in my family, by me.
Best wishes for good growing.
I learned much since 2022 and I thought I knew enough, 1970-83).
Keep up the good work.
