Should I setup an LED Lamp?

I’m going to be starting my first grow shortly, it will be an outdoor grow in grow bags with soil. I will start indoors and move outside once frost is done. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on lights as I won’t be doing any indoor grows.

My question are…

Is it worth it to setup an LED lamp on a timer during the seedling phase before I move it outside?

Can I use a regular LED A19 bulb in a lamp on a light timer?

Thanks

As long as your not growing your plants big indoors and your keeping them seedlings them you don’t need much light at all.

If you decide you want to order a light something as cheap and simple as this will cover you

Thanks,

The web says our last frost will be between May 11-20, then they will be outside until harvest. I’m only growing 3-4 plants on my window sill until then. Was just worried about enough light to keep them seedlings until then.

No real need to use a timer either in the seedling stage with a light that is not very powerful.

Your not using enough power to worry about hydro consumption so unless you just want a dark period it’s not that necessary

So it’s not worth the price/setup, just let nature take it’s course.

A small light would not hurt at all

Sorry I misunderstood your previous reply, you meant no need to turn off the light leave it on 24hrs correct?

Correct.

Now if want a dark period you can use a timer, they are normally like ten bucks

I’ve been reading posts on the arguments of a schedule like 18hrs on, 6hours off versus 24hr, some interesting comments

Ya the are allot of arguements this way or that, you are just trying to go cheap and it’s temporary till you get the plants outside whe they will get a cdark period

A19s will work for seedlings also

I agree, you don’t need to have a dark period on vegging plants. Cannabis is a c3 plant and doesn’t require a dark period to grow. Flowering is a different story for photo period plants of course.

Starting them now they may outgrow a small light by June 1, but there’s no need to specifically run out and buy a timer.
