The breeders guide says 55 to 65 days. To flower. I’m at day 48. Of flower. The tops of a couple colas look. Like they may be dying, kinda turning a dark color. Are my plants ready to harvest? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Check the children. The trichomes. Magnify. Trichromes should be frosty white. NOT CLEAR.
Do you have a way to look at your bud magnified milky, alittle amber is about right or 90% of pistols red from the pic about like mine
I definitely still see alot of white hairs. Amd the breeders flowering time is just an estimate that was calculated under perfect conditions more than likely. More times than not u end up going a extra week or 2 past the suggested time. Ide say u still have a good 2 or 3 weeks but wont truly know until u get a 30x loop and see up close. Just be patient, i learned the hard way that premature buds garbage. Never again!! Lol
I’ve read that autos sometimes don’t change to amber in time?
Yeahs. Jewelers loupe
I see some clear still. But on the buds they are milky. I will try and take a pic
Why. Is the tops of the cola turning darker tho? Is that something I should be concerned about. These are gg autos
In general it comes down to genetics technically. U cant compare the flower time of one auto to ur auto. Every strain whether photo or auto varies and every little thing makes it varie so much more. Humidity, temp, light intensity, watering/feeding practices, airflow etc… a slight change in one of thise will change ur overall yeild and or flowering time. All the elements work hand in hand
What do u mean turning dark? Im not seeing anything alarming
I see some color coming out that could be mistaken as darkening looks like some purple coming through … also if breeder suggested 55 to 60 days and your only at 48 that’s not what you want you want it to chive on past the flower date bigger plant bigger buds all together … you leaves are nice and green still you should never go by pistols changing orange once they turn you should start checking tricomes u got about 2 to 3 weeks after that point when all pistols change then you might get some new white ones pop up but that’s normal it’s the plants drive to stay alive
And look at buds not sugar leaves… the swollen calyxs is what u should be focused on
So you’re saying go ahead lil further than the suggested flower time? Also I’ve been checking the tei comes since I started to see them. So I know there is definitely milky tri comes but also still some clear ones. On the sugar leaves. So . Ima let it ride.
Its blurry but i most definitely see alot of clear. Like i stated earlier, ide give it a good 2 or 3 weeks more possibly. Just watch them trichomes.
For me, my autos look really beat up when they are close to harvest. They look more spent than a photoperiod plant looks.
This a jack herer auto 12/6 harvest. Looking pretty waisted
Fan leaves and some of the sugar leaves are browning and showing their age
It’s trichomes cover all ranges from clear to amber
From a mature calyx
While the trichomes on another calyx still has a lot more clear and some cloudy
I certainly could have let this plant go a while longer but I needed the space for the next grow so down she went. She was given 130+ days to do her thing. Long enough!
This is what took her place Sea of Green Acres AK47 & NL Clones
You have a while to go. The magnified picture is of a sugar leaf. It looks to have all clear or cloudy trichomes. When the sugar leaf trichomes have lots more amber, then you are close. These turn sooner than bud trichomes.
Patience and you will be rewarded with fuller, heavier buds.
