11 weeks today from seed

This is a Gorilla Cookies Auto 11 weeks old today. Do you all think she’s ready to harvest or should I wait another week or so ? Looking at trichomes through a 40x loupe but my eyes suck LOL and my camera phone isn’t much better. Sugar leaves defiantly have about 15-20% amber …. Amber is easy for me to see , but calyx’s seem to be predominantly, milky or clear. The “ milky or clear “ is what’s hard for me to tell the difference

Every time I see pics of someone asking if ready to harvest I’ve never read a Yes reply Lol ! It’s always “ I would wait another week “ or a few weeks…… I guess that’s how all you OG growers know who’s a newbie, and I’m sure you’re right 99% of the time :joy:

There is a lot of amber in that last pic. If the majority of the plant is similar, and the rest of the hairs look that way, I’d say it’s your call. How many weeks in flower? Nice lookin lady btw.

Lmao ! Thanks for all the help. I think I’m going to give her until next Mon… The last 24 - 48 hrs I’ll keep her in the dark then Keep my fingers crossed that after dry and cure I’ll have some personal :fire:

Nice grow. She should be some fine sticky bud. Congratulations!

I think @DoneDeal said one of the best rules of thumbs to go by. When he thinks its ready he waits one more week. This told me that harvesting too early is far more detrimental for the outcome than if i incidentally went a week too long. After all id rather have bud that sat me on ass then have some that was, “ah its mediocre”…

Keep detailed notes about the grow time, the drying process and the cure.
Then take notes about the smoke experience. Ask yourself if that is what you are looking for.

Then in your next grow learn from those notes and tweak your process to give you the ultimate reward.

It will take many grows and you may be forever pursuing that elevated plane you seek. Hopefully you will make it and always enjoy the experience

Evolve your grow and it will evolve you.

They look like they could come down anytime. My eyes suck also. The loupe I have is hard to focus to get a good view. I agree with when you think they are done, wait another week. Better off a week or more to long than picking early if un sure.
Gonna be some good smoke by the way it looks.

Thanks to everyone for their help ! I really want to see the trichomes better. I’m sure the 40x jewelers loupe works great for most everyone that’s not half blind, but for those of us that it doesn’t work for does anyone have a good product recommendation ?

Alot of folks use this. Not too costly and hooks right up to your phone. Due to the extreme mag, you need a stand. Have an old microphone stand or something similar? It will give you incredible clear close ups easy to see the good stuff.

Thank you ! I just ordered one .

Don’t do that, it’s unnecessary, and you risk mold issues… Nice looking plants :+1:

I won’t do that ! Thank You ….I’m guessing “ Don’t do that” is meaning don’t leave dark for 24hrs before chop ? Your reasoning makes way more sense than being dark for 24-48 hrs will make fire out of mids.

These were taken with one of the microscopes that you hook to your phone. They work great.i don’t use a stand I sit on the ground and prop my arm with my knee. Good luck! Awesome plant.

Word.

There is a lot of valuable advice online, and there are also other things; but it is dificult to tell the difference without a lot of first hand experience and or research.

I do not generally encourage superfluous purchases to grow, but a decent microscope and a mic stand or something stable to hold it, are very valuable for harvesting decisions and documentation (this coming from someone who grows in organic soil and does not bottle feed or own anything to test PPM/EC):
