Y’all, I’m still very new to grow and am wondering what’s going on here. This is mobius 1. Came from same group as Stubby Girl. The packaging said mbd or mdk, as in Moby Dick (assuming). A week to germ and a week to break ground. 5 weeks above ground today. HF soil so I’ve been kinda flushing after first week into veg. The water going in was an average 7.18 pH and 0078 tds. The runoff today is 6.30 and 0593 after starting at 5.45 and 2483. Next bath she gets will most likely contain some Bob’s Growtime. There’s the backstory. Now look at the photos and tell me what’s going on with the pistils(?) growing from the stalks. I looked at them magnified and that’s how they appear. So y’all, what’s happening? Thanks I’m advance and cheers!
Pistils on the calyxes indicate that the plant is sexually mature and ready to flower.
We have seen autos flower as early as 2.5 weeks. Between 4 and 7 weeks is common. You have to take what you get with autos. Suggest growing photos if you want more control of the plant.
The pH range for soil is 6.3 to 6.8.
PPM should be maintained at ~1,000.
I had read several posts here about the woes of HF and pH, why I started above 7. Probably why there’s a little yellowing on some leaf tips. Should the pH be the same in and out? And now do I treat it with nutes with the npk geared toward flowering? My goal is the numbers you presented. Thanks brother, sorry so many questions, lol.
pH problems are a symptom of using synthetic nutrients and rarely the soil used if using a buffered soil (HF is buffered.) The Fox Farms Trio (the nutes and not the soil) is the worst. I have grown in HF for years without pH problems with the soil itself.
Not necessarily. Runoff pH should be monitored and your nute feedings pH adjusted as necessary to maintain the target pH. Monitor runoff and adjust the input accordingly to meet a 6.3 to 6.8 runoff pH.
Thank you
Another note regarding nutes: autos don’t need as much as photos. Use them conservatively.
Agreed. I use 50%

Thanks guys. I usually start at about 25-28%. Since it’s already making pistils, do I go straight to a flowering nute? Even at 5 weeks above ground?
Thanks good people!
Yep, that’s about how long that phase of the life cycle lasts for an auto.

Yep I’d think they are ready to eat and starting light is ok keeping in mind the short life cycle
Thanks y’all! This forum is full of help and great answers.
My mind’s in the gutter again, but when I first saw the title of this thread, I thought maybe you’d hooked up with a gal you thought was 18, until you found out the next day she was the 16-year-old daughter of a USMC Master Gunnery Sergeant.
That title was for attention!
