Yeah buds need light to grow
what i have from jack’s 3 2 1 is part A part B and epson
I think part A is your part C. B is calcium nitrate for me too
“Yes that amazon stuff will work if you have a local hydro store or agricultural supplier I suggest minimizing amazon purchases but that’s just my view to. Support local and not bezos”
I’m in the sticks. Closest other than a Walmart is 30 miles. When I know they have what I need ill make the trip… but sometimes just one thing is easier with Amazon. I agree Bezos sucks along with a bunch of others but it’s hard to avoid sometimes. I like to start there, sometimes, to see what options there are and then use that to shop locally. In the end most comes from China no matter where you get it. My feelings
I want to thank you again for your patience and help
I did not know that about editing. Im still learning the forum format… ie; I’m old
Ha, look at me… editing my posts and all Thanks
Proprietary blend (jacks part A, chemgro 4-20, master blend, etc etc)
Calcium nitrate (part B)
Magnesium sulfate (part C)
Magnesium sulfate is Epson salts FYI, steer away from calling it Epson salts try to stick to magnesium sulfate it will help you later as you learn more about nutrients. However buying pure Epson salts is sometimes cheaper from a variety store or pharmacy. Any Epson salts In a first aid section will work great to, good quality.
Now what does Mkp mean… And notice when we add mkp the ratios change of the other parts? That’s because we are adding some of it back with the mkp.

I used to grow in HF but have moved on to coco. I never check runoff, I just make sure everything going in is the right ph and don’t worry about what comes out.
I defoliate quite often throughout the grow and do heavy leaf pulling a few times during flowering, with the most being pulled around day 21 of flowering and then a couple weeks after when the small leaves left have grown into large leaves.
Lmao, Wow did not know that that really makes sense. it’s so obvious now, duh
I have what I need for one more soil grow. If I were to go with coco, is there a beginner option/setup recommended. I’ve only seen the bubble buckets, with pump for about $60 (at the store 30 miles away) that look straight forward. Im guessing there’s alot of options. Can you guys recommend a post or article?
I’m poor fyi
Wait… are you guys using coco and other inert media and then grow in bags just like soil? I hear coco and I automatically think hydro…
Coco is the medium, you treat it like hydro.
I wouldn’t recommend the buckets to finicky.
I strongly recommend autopots, the best investment you will make for growing so good my wifey wants them for our deck to grow veggies.
I found this meter at playstore called “PPFD meter”
It seems to skip past LUX and gives you both PPFD and DLI. Not sure how accurate but it’s there.
Was a little concerned about choosing light source. I chose High CRI LED 4000K. It seemed the best choice for the sf4000
Should I try to achieve the best intensity reading at canopy level with the light at manufacturer’s optimal recommended distance? I’m a little confused about that even with Mr. Bugbee’s thoroughness
Here’s some screen shots of the app
I’ve seen it, don’t trust it because it hasn’t been tested with a appogge meter.
Might nerd a diffuse might not, might be innacure either way… Impossible to tell.
You could do the lux and then try that and see how close it gets.
I forgot to ask what a diffuser was. Is it just like frosted mylar?
Here’s the highest rated LUX meter
Go read the DLI thread my friend
Stick to 3gal fabric or airpots for autos they’ll do better
I did lol, thanks
So, I’ve been messing around with different apps and techniques. Using LUX to PPFD to DLI with out diffuser, using waveform calculations, gives me 29.42 DLI… (the apps were all pretty similar)
Was hoping for higher obviously. Does that make sense for the sf4000 (456w at wall)
If it’s accurate, could I have gotten light burn?
Is there such a thing as intensity burn vs heat burn?
When the GSC got burnt (from distance) the new little shoots/leaves was really where I saw it the most. They in the shape of a “S”… they were just kinda twisted. Also it was stunted for rest of grow
(Still can’t find a local supplier of monopotasium phosphate)
So the photone app has been proven accurate recently if you use a piece of printer paper over your front camera as a diffuser. Oh and use it in sunlight mode not led mode.
30 DLI it’s self will not cause light burn, I’m sure the light can produce more than 30 DLI though I would hope at least lol. Depends on distance of course and hours of light to.
If your light is closer than 12 inches you may get light burn though.
Ps. I didn’t see this post be sure to tag me
@ Nicky
Thanks @Nicky
Unfortunately I figured out that’s where my camera sensor stops. 422 ppfd I think or 472 it was a couple weeks ago
Soooo, I’ve formulated a new plan. Wing’n it
Hey, a different question. Is the mixing order…
mkp, part A, epsom salt, part B?
can mkp and part A be mixed together?
I found some monopotasium fert
Silica
Ph down
Jack’s A
Cal nitrate
Mag
Sulfate
Mkp
PH again
Add microbes
