2x4 tent suggestions

Looking to start my 3rd autoflower run and now know I need to either replace or add to my current lighting ( philzon 1000w) - my bud density was just not what it should have been.

Iv been directed to keep this upgrade bellow $250 -

I know hlg is the recommended atm but a refurbished hlg 300 is around $340
currently so I’m looking for options in said budget.

Would adding a pair of the non dimmable sf1000 to the mix lead to decent results?

I will look at any similar combo as well

@MadamCalamity does killer grows in a 2x4 with 4 SF-1000s but they are the dimmable ones.
I had good results with a SF-2000 and an SF-1000 in a 2x4, but honestly I didn’t make it to flower before I upgraded to HLG! LOL!
I’ve got the 2000 and now 2 1000s in a 2.3x2.3 now and it’s totally over-powered! LOL!
The autos are doing great under them!
SF is a solid piece of equipment for a decent price.
But I can’t speak directly fir the non-dimmable ones as all of mine have the dimmer.

Best of Luck!!

Those nondimable are not the same as the other sf1000 they are decent for seedlings and or veg but don’t have enough for flowering even one plant. I’m not just badmouthing sf either I’m a fan of theirs and have a few

I would look into viparspectra and sonofarm they have moved up in quality and are priced right. I know from experience that someone is going to come along and say they’re crap and the diodes are junk and so on. I say go to YouTube and search either one and watch what they are growing under them before you make a choice. Lights for whatever reason have become like cars everyone has a favorite and everything else is junk. Now don’t get me wrong if you have the money for a better light it’s going to perform better but the one I mentioned will grow good

I also have the HLG 260 XL in my 2x4

If you want to keep using the Philzon you can add a light. The HLG 260 rspec is 250w and measures 23x8. After 10% DUDE discount is $267. I have three of them.
The Sonofarm 2000 would also do nicely with its 220w, $210 price tag and 24x10" size. I have the 4000 model and, other than its miscalibrated dimmer, it produces very nice buds.

I do not see the 260 XL available online.
( I’m not interested in a kit or wiring anything)

Believe me. If I can do it, I even hate changing a light bulb, you can too. But it is understandable

The H LG 260 V-2 R space XL Would be a great choice for your 2 x 4 space very easy to assemble lots of videos you can watch.

Let me tag in @MeEasy. He has used a couple of different brands and may have a suggestion.

Also resident light expert @dbrn32 could recommend something assembled for your size tent.

Before buying the S.F.s I’d look at the HLG Diablo 200 . . . my opinion it’s the best budget light out there. About $30 (sans discount code) more than the sf1000 but twice the wattage. Have to look on the HLG catalog page for QB Kits, but it’s a pre-assembled lamp.

Thanks for the tag @JaneQP I mentioned a couple lights up :point_up_2: there but @beardless said you can get 250w from hlg for 270 bucks it’s almost a no brainer shit I’ll send @Wades-concrete the 20 bucks just to help him get a better light and keep momma happy. I don’t watch prices on hlg because I won’t give them another penny but I don’t badmouth their equipment either because I think it’s good stuff. I’m also not going to ignore the fact that you can get 250w from vipar for 160 bucks and grow good weed under them

@MeEasy Sorry I missed your post above. Even I was able to put the kit together!

Soldering is what I’m looking to avoid as I just dont have the practice - a few of the videos I skimmed through mentioned they were sending them already soldered.

If that’s the case then I’m sure I can manage

I’ve never built one of their kits but I believe it’s just the plastic connectors

There will be an extra black wire when you attach the potentiometer. Just tape or wire nut that one off.

Pay particular attention to Step 7 (written direction not the picture). Also Step 11.

Some kits were put together with the wrong sized carabiners. I contacted HLG and it was funny to see the associated email chain. “Can some explain to her how to attach the carabiners?” They had shipped 1/4 inch instead of 3/8 inch carabiners. When I sent a picture they overnight a new ones and a free pair of sunglasses.

It is not necessary. The wire ends that connect into the light can be tinned but is not necessary (the red & black power wires in the middle of the light).

@MeEasy is right. All other connections are made with wagos that come with the light.
One thing that is nice with using a kit is the driver can easily be relocated out side of the space.
This is the dimmer knob (potentiometer) connected to the driver using the provided wagos

I have the three drivers outside of the closet. Just need to run a separate ground between the light’s heatsink and the driver.

I did not electrocute myself and they worked.
.
Any of the recommended lights will do the job. There are many that will fill a 2x4 space.
