Planted a new germinated seed into fox farm soil about three days ago, hasn’t sprouted at all yet kinda worried it was already dead so I easily moved soil and saw the seed there nothing changed that I could notice so I lightly misted the soil and put it back over it. Is there a way to know if it’s dead and a time frame to wait? Did the paper towel method, as soon as the tap root was about half a inch I put it into the soil. Thanks guys!
Mmmm how deep did you plant the seed?
If you planted more than a 1/4 in deep it could take a week to break ground. I’ve had some pop out the next day and have had them go a week. But I never go more than 1/4 most of the time it’s just barely under the soil 1/8”.
Maybe a inch, inch and a 1/4th max
Well fuck, do you think it’s dead or just gonna take longer? How can I tell if it’s dead? Or if I needa get anew seed ready
Brother that’s way too deep.
Is it dead? Should I start a new seed? Or leave it be? When I put soil back over it I hardly put it under the soil
Like the other said just wait until sprout
Happy growing
Get some of the soil off the top and hope for best.
Did you see the tap root? Did it look white or brown
I saw the tap root it looked white with hairs
Just get it under the soil an 1/8 and don’t over water. Water in a ring around it but don’t saturate it. Let it almost dry out and do this again. Until it breaks ground
Yeah that’s a little deep for a seed, like @Dman1969 said, 1/8” OR pinky nail length is how far down I go, deep enough for me to feel it
I think your gonna be good just don’t over water. If anything just spritz the top where the seed is. I’m guilty of overwatering a lot. But just spritz the top a couple times a day. And Mabee put a clear solo cup or dome over the top for good measure.
And Happy Growin!
In my post before the last I said water in a ring around the seed. I’m sorry but you do that after it breaks ground. I’m kinda high rite now.
Hey bro u have planted it to deep what u can do is two things you can leave it and wait for it to pop up or u can carefully take it out of the soil and replant it not so deep
