1 out 10 seeds germinated. Durban Poison i suggest not buying theae seeds!
If you purchased them from ILGM, contact customer service. If you have done everything correctly, they will do right by you.
In the meantime, perhaps you could tell us your method of germination. The good folks here may be able to assist you in finding a better method.
Not from ILGM
Germinating can be tricky. I’ve lost a few seeds to non germination, damping off, or other oddities in the first few days.
The best method I’ve found is to drop seeds in a glass (8oz) of distilled water with 5ml hydrogen peroxide. Place the glass in a warm (75f-80f) and mostly dark area for 24-48 hours. Check daily. You should see each seed sprouting a white tail.
I use seedling specific soil, in an opaque solo cup, with multiple holes in the bottom and lower 1". Rapid rooters and other peat cubes seem to stay too wet. When the tails are 1-2mm long I gently pull them out, and plant them in seedling specific soil with the tail end down. I’ll poke a hole about 1/3-1/2" into the soil with a pencil first and put the tail into it. Then I cover very lightly with soil. A gentle mist with more h20 and then I cover with a clear cup and place directly (2-3") under a cool cfl around 60w.
I check multiple times throughout the day, and mist the soil when it appears dry.
When the 2nd set of leaves appear I remove the clear cup
Planted AK-47 seed in y Aerogarden and it has not germinated after 8 days. Planted another seed from the same batch and it germinated within 48 hours. Could it be a bad seed and any suggestions as to what to do with it. Purchased from ILGM.
Contact the sales staff. Ilgm is pretty fantastic about replacing duds.
I have found temperature to be the key item in successful germination. I have a lot better results now that I do it at 80°F than I did at 75°F.
I bought some from another company and had horrible luck hopefully I get more than just the apology e-mail that I received it has to be the seeds because everything I tried from ILGM popped and I dropped some old bag seed I had they pop but everyone I paid for sit in the cup for 24-36hrs if they don’t pop in that time frame I put them in moist paper towels and keep in a dark cabinet@78-82 degrees after 10 days I give up on them.
I have a seedling/clone tray with a heated mat under it. Well worth the $30-$40.
Welcome …ILGM are for sure good
ILGM took care of me…Welcome
Yes ILGM has great service and a great guarantee!!
I have mine in glass container and place them on top of my hot water heater, so at no cost works as a heat pad. Also followed suggestions for drop of peroxide in water. Good luck…to me it is the most trying time is the germ to infant stage …like havein a baby and then watch her take her first steps
I like the simpler seed into dirt in clear cup that slides into a red or dark cup to protect roots. Humidity dome and viola, 3-4 days later a sprout. I have had a very high success rate this way, I recently had 3 duds, ILGM shipped 3/25 and I had them in my mailbox 2 days ago.
Planted 20 last year, 1 didn’t make it but it was my fault. I drowned the poor seed . Many times it can be user error, other times it is just bad beans. ILGM will ALWAYS have my business, I like no bull:poop: customer service.
I’ve had 100% germination. Only problem I’ve had with their seeds is the white widow autos they’re supposed to start flowering after 3 to 4 weeks I haven’t had one that floured before two months
Hmmm, mine always started prebloom 30 days after sprout. Give about 2-3 weeks for full flower mode, sounds on track with yours. Don’t know if indoor grow and outdoor grow conditions matter.
Welcome to the forum. Good luck on your grow and you should buy your seeds from here. They do stand by their quality.
Also germinating seeds are tricky and like @Drinkslinger says I don’t care much for the peat cubes as they do retain water and that holds back the tap root from actually sprouting drinking roots. So as he says to put the tap root down about a 1/2 inch and gently place the seedling taproot first into the soil. Use a red dixie cup with lots of holes in it and your potting soil. Let them rock and don’t overwater. Oh one more thing make sure you have plenty of perlite in your soil.
