Im with @Hellraiser I use my LED as soon as they break ground. Is a cotyledon vegetation? Why yes it is! However, as @Covertgrower said, its a grey area. Is true veg as soon as the first branches show? 3rd set of true leaves? 1st set? I dont even ask anymore… is the plant growing? Yes check

I know mine is small scale but I germinate mine in the tent as you can see in picture
And then move them closer to light as I move other plants to my flower tent
I dont get crazy big harvest at once
I cut one to two plants every couple weeks it works for me I get a constant rotation of different strains
And it helps with patience and i notice I let my buds cure as well sent im pulling around 3 oz a plant every 2 weeks and for personal thats plenty plus all dry ice kief I collect every couple months from the clippings I save

I like this idea @Highplainsgrower. I take it they are drip rings fed from a pump with a return to a reservoir. Would that be right

That is correct I have the option to run one main res. To all modules but Because I do different strains at different times I run the singles res for each one and I have air pump that have 4 out tubes and some that have 2 out tubes and some with one that way depending what I’m doing I have a few options for my air pumps
It also helps with say one plant don’t like as much nutrition as the othere I can control each individual reservoir.
I have two spare reservoir bucks that I use for when I give them new reservoir witch is at least once a week they get new water and nutrition
And how my schedule works I change 1 to 2 plants res a day. First thing in the morning because there all at different times I can set there new reservoir date that way I’m not trying to change 8 reservoir in one day

Could you stick a picture up of the reservoir, feed lines etc. Going to try this in the new year. Type of buckets, pump that sort of thing

Aaahhhh, each bucket is its own reservoir and the air stone just keeps it aerated. I see

Tell me more if you don’t mind. I’m assuming that a gravity feed back to a central tank then a pump on a timer takes it back to the pots via a drip ring
Yea thats correct the timer turns on push air down a tube then push water up through the drip ring

That is about what I thought. Thanks mate. I put them in the tent today under the Veg half of my LED at a decent distance. They had responded positively within the hour. It will be fascinating to watch them grow this time. Minimal training, proper nutes and boosters combined with HPS lighting.
Let the games begin!

Sounds like my tent. Half HPS and half hlg. You can actually see the difference between the two. The led side started to suffer from calmag issues
