Thanks - great info! I will stick to some light bondage on these ones and just let them do their thing - while making sure they have room to breathe. :upside_down_face: :+1: :sunglasses:

It is good to know they are so tolerant with the light cycle. Excited to see what they produce. :sunglasses: :+1:

@Highplainsgrower My experience with the Autos in ocean forest soil will carry you up close the flowering stage without feeding anything. At that point I will do two good feeding of veg nutes to support stretch mode then go with the bloom nutes till finished. Good luck

I was using a different brand when I ran it, but I did use a bloom booster. I added the booster when I saw that it was transitioning.

I do like the way you think…
When they struggle against the bindings… trying to resist… The way they willingly open up, the scent… the increased resin production… :boom:

I’m sorry… where were we? :upside_down_face:

Update:
3 of 4 seed germinated in water, the fourth and smallest of the seeds did nothing. All four are now in Jiffy Pods under fluro at 18/6…
Hmmm… to drop 3 Lemon Skunk Autos in water or not. Maybe straight into Jiffy Pods…

I hate odd numbers! It’s done. Sink or swim!!!  :+1:
I hope everyone is safe and well!!!

One of my Critical Mass is small and slow. I germinated a bagseed Banana Hammock and it sprouted but the two Jilly Bean bagseed have not yet and may never. Like a box of chocolates on bagseed. But my Grape Ape bagseed I grew did super well and was like a grape Jolly Rancher with nice effects. You just never know I guess.

Of the bagseed, I only had one Banana Hammock seed and was glad it sprouted as that was a super nice strain and I don’t see it very often nor seeds for it either.

It has been many years since I’ve actually seen a ‘bag seed’. That is great for quality - but not so good for reproduction!
I will stick to autos on this run - a first. Our summer can get pretty crazy - so did not want to risk the ‘good seeds’ on crazy conditions.
I will get into the Photos next run when the weather cools. That will let me back into cloning at good timing.

So it seems one seed decided to wait until it got buried… Pineapple Express Auto - 4 seeds - 4 happy little plants!!! :seedling: :seedling: :seedling: :seedling:
3 Lemon Skunk Auto seeds still in water - one has split… at my current success rate, this will be very interesting!
Also picked but the Cool Tube for my 600W HPS - no doubt the difference will be large! :sunglasses:

I decided to run the Canna range of extras this time to try and maximise everything.

I think I will be relying on these autos not getting very tall (apart from light LST) as both strains are supposed to be 8-9 week to completion.

I have probably backed myself into a corner at the same time - using what I learned first run…

No excuses!

I do have a couple of questions though:

  1. When does the 'vegetative stage actually start? First set of 7 fingered leaves?
  2. My seedlings are only 2 days above ground and currently under fluro light. How long should I wait before getting them under my LED to start them off. This is assuming that they should be eased into their HPS goodness?

Thanks in advance - as always - you guys are awesome!
Hoping everyone is keeping safe and healthy!

Remember! That fat bearded bastard in the red suit is watching… :sunglasses:

2 more sets of true leaves, and I would start counting. I think this phase is a little bit of a grey area.

I am not sure on when it is actually considered veg stage. I know I flipped my Wedding Cake at 6 weeks. I try and flip when they are half way to the height I can get them to be at most. Which now that the Fat Bearded Bastard has brought me an early present of the 5x5 tent, I can get a whole lot more height on them first.

As far as light, looking at my notes my first grow went under the LED lights around 3 weeks. Right now my Critical Mass have been up out of soil since 12/1 (Banana Hammock at 12/9) and I really am needing to put them in their AutoPot and start them under the LED light but I am using the new tent to inoculate my psilocybin spores tomorrow, if the inoculation lids arrive as they are supposed to :sunglasses: if they don’t I will put them in there Saturday and do something different with the inoculation, as I feel they are more than ready to transition to the Big Room. I had a small issue of misting the little tent they are in and scorching the lower leaves in spots, but they have bounced back and doing well.

Looking back at the autflower grow I just finished I started transitioning to LED in about 21 days. So three weeks seem to work for what I have grown.

We won’t be using the ceiling fan in there anymore. Next spring if we build the shop we plan on building this tent will go in there, but I am angling for a nice above ground swimming pool.

Sorry budz mate, I’ve been day dreaming and missed a bit of progress. As soon as mine are out the ground and able to stand without assistance then they’re under the light which is usually 2-3 weeks

That 2-3 weeks seems a good standard. I just found out my inoculation lids won’t be here until Monday, and even then iffy with UPS backlog, wonder how long I can keep these under the T5 light? I really, really want to use the new tent to inoculate before I put anything in there but really, really want to get these in that tent and growing in their final destination.

I start my seedlings out under Mh 600 watts at 32 inches high and slowly lower it until I’m at the right distance. I’m currently under 750 watts and will stay there till I flip. Then I’m going to 1000 watt Hps. :sunglasses::v::call_me_hand:

I’ve used the MH as well, awesome light. Too much heat for my wee tent though

I consider veg starting when they break ground, it’s all vegetative growth until they start flowering.

Could move to the LED anytime, no need for HPS at this point.

I’m in a 10 x16 open room so no worries there. :joy::v::call_me_hand:
