Second go with DWC

Thanks @StevOz
Might have a look into these…

Anyone’s thoughts on taking the massive fan leaves off to give the branch’s (most have been trained out) below more light as they are covering a lot of the lower growth???

Just at 4 weeks now…

I find you can usually gently push those big fan leaves under the lower branches for more light to the branches.

Short and squat. I think I’m feeding to much…

EC 1.5 but thinking of dropping down to the 1.2 ish mark.

I’ve been dropping the ph twice a day, it moves to 6 from 5.8/.9.

The Rh is correct for the temps in the tent (varies bit up bit down but we will say 60 to 65RH and rough temps of 20-25 in the tent) .

Think the hydroshield worked as roots have started popping out of the basket again.

I think a diet for a few days will help perk her up.

Thoughts.

Evening Growmies,
Definite turnaround now.
New roots coming out of the basket
Making sure no light gets into reservoir.
Ph now stable at 5.8
EC has dropped from 1.5 to between 1.2 to 1.3.
Tank level has dropped as to be expected.
She’s drinking and eating heaps. Catching up after 2-3 weeks of lost growth.
Sorry bout the green light but it seems to help seeing all the new white roots re-emerging again. Also I’m being ultra careful. But definitely an improvement.

Have also been pushing the fan leaves out the way of the new growth to get them more light.

As my question for this post is:
Now how do I increase the EC as I’ve only changed a the tank 3 days ago.
Is it another tank change?
Or top up everything but how?

All the gear and no idea… :joy:

Thanks everyone.

Hey Growmies,
Added an extra 6 litres (should have done an extra 2).
Dropped ph to 5.8 before adding to reservoir + drive and plus at 2mls per litre.
Added an and b (2mls at time) to increase EC to get this from 1.1 upto 1.4 very slowly over an hour+.

Results so far…
Been 17 hours and looks much healthier.
I’ve pull the main branches down to make sure they are getting enough light.

Ph 5.8
EC 1.4

She’s still small but can now see a bit more movement.
Have not checked the roots again but will have a look when the lights go out.

Happy growing…

morning Mardy…she looks healthy…you might consider going in and taking out the big fans and all the little branches and fans from the inside so air can flow thru…it will help to get her to put more energy into the main branches…she will look ugly for a day and then she will fill in again…I have been camping the last week at the lake and so haven’t been on the forums…

Welcome @Retiredoldguy how was the camping? Was wondering where you disappeared to…

Was thinking the same thing about the fan leaves and the off shoots.

But she’s starting to really sit out rather than the Cousin It plant.

When is the best time to defoliate? Ie just as lights come on, off, halfway through the light cycle or it really doesn’t matter.

I don’t know that it matters when/time you defoliate… I usually do it in the mornings after lights come on and I have checked the reservoirs …during Veg if I see there is no light going thru the canopy then I take off some leaves…as she grows tall I start to take off the bottom leaves and branches and just leave the tops to form like a bouquet of flowers…I typically defoliate 2-3 times in veg and another 2 times in flower…I typically set my trellis around 16-18 inches and as she grows I try to take off anything below the trellis because it will never produce anything good…

my current grow after 2 weeks of flower

I will be doing the last defoliation this next reservoir change out on Friday

and camping and lake time was most excellent!

when I trim the branches I leave 3 nodes on the end and clean all below that keeping any side branches that look like they will grow and cutting off any that won’t…then as that branch grows longer I keep that same technique going until I flip to 12/12 …

This is great cause mine is about a week ahead of your grow minus a week of issues…

Sorry but I’m going follow your grow and learn what to do.
Thanks to your and a few others for advise so far.

Will send before and after pics tonight.

did I show you my double headed bud…

I have grown 13 finger fans and fans that grew buds on them and now this freak of nature…its called poly something meaning it has 2 genes/chromosomes in that branch and should only have 1…

do you have a trellis net for your tent…if not you should get one… I recommend the elastic ones over the hard string kind because it allows you to move branches within the squares if needed … and it looks like you will need them to support your colas and make your canopy more even

That’s amazing the polymorphic double banger .
It looks like it will be massive.

I do have a scrog net (somewhere ).

Should I put this in now?

I put my net on when I flip to 12/12 and place it at the tops of the plant so the flower stretch grows thru it…that becomes my level that I want all above to grow and look to harvest …everything below the net will not get light and will be airy buds…
